25hourmaid:
maid, what is the wt for 一钱 ??

why need to keep overnite, can't consume on the day itself??
or the residue is for seconding helping??

The 一钱 is the way the Chinese Medical Shops measure their stuff. Just show the man this recipe and he will pack accordingly for you, don't have to worry what or how much 一钱 is.

No, you read wrongly. Drink the soup after double-boiling it the first time. Then keep the residue in the fridge to use a second time the next day so as not to waste the herbs.

oic.....thks
i have the 3 items 泡参, 枸杞, 川穹, so i only need to get tian qi
i know 一 两 is 37.5 grams, but how abt 一钱
nvm, can ask from the shopowner.
ok...get from the net
10 钱 = 1 两
so 1 钱 = 3.75 g (Err.......so little  )

On this topic of TCM that helps promote growth, my late granny reminded me that when my son is a teenager to make 长骨草 for him to drink. Have anyone of you heard of this herb? :?

She calls it \"teng kut chao\", but I'm unsure if I translated it to the Mandarin right. Also, I'm not a TCM user, so I'll really appreciate any info about this. 😄

vlim:
ya my niece get to know of a footballer who got the jab to increase his height..Just wonder is it safe to do that. My brother has 4 kids and this niece of my is no. 2 kid. No 1 very tall. No 3 who is 13 yr old ..I think is about 1.7...and is obvious taller then her. The youngest boy is pretty tall too..So she is the only one that is not so tall and she is not too happy about it. Their mother is about 1.72...

You didn't mention the height of your neice, but there's really nothing wrong for a girl to be shorter than 1.7m. If her other siblings are boys, they will usually be taller than her.

If she is very much shorter than her parents and siblings, instead of trying all sorts of ways to grow taller, your brother may want to get her checked for any underlying conditions that could cause stunted growth, eg thyroid problems. Growth could also be affected by certain medication eg steroids for asthma.

i manage to get the peanut plant, boiling now. 😄

but ......it's very hard to wash it clean leh, lots of soil attached on the roots and groundnuts.

have been trying to surf the net to get more \"scientific info\" on this peanut plant,
but nothing much avail, any1 has any reading material on it.

The soil n dirt will come off more readily if they are soaked in water for a few hours. Very time consuming to make this soup. I usu. ask my MIL to prepare this soup since she has a maid n a wash area in the yard.

Those living near Bt Timah wet mkt (the one next to Pei Hwa Presbyterian Pri Sch) can visit one of the veg stall to buy this peanut plant. I hv seen it for sale this week.

My children consumed this soup quite regularly last year. My elder boy grows at least 10cm taller (also puberty starting) and my younger boy also grows taller. Other than this peanut soup, it is also good to make slow boiled pork bones soup which is rich in calcium.
