      Jenn:

I personally feel that there is a lot of improvement that SST could do to draw the better and right students there. There are many students who have very good O levels and opt for poly when they could have gone to most JCs. SST should try to target and identify these students early instead of trying to compete with NUS High, RI or HCI for students.
But there appears to be lots of students applying. They've already shortlisted the 1st batch.

I am sure there will be a lot of students applying. I only get the impression that the direction has not been clearly laid out. I feel they should be more bold as they are a specialised school instead of trying to be many things to many people. So far the specialised schools like sports school, SOTA and NUS High has been fairly unique and niche in their own way. I only hope that SST will do something in the future to distingush themselves as a specialised school.

So the general consensus here is that SST won't be a popular choice? :?

          Anyone applied for it?

It sounds like preparing children for future engineering path at young age...

I think children of this generation are forced to grow up fast.

Congratulation! How do they shortlist? Did your son have to go thru selection test first?

Er... not sure how they shortlist. They don't allow every applicant to go for the selection camp. They simply shortlist from the applications they receive. Not sure what criteria they adopt.

Anyway, it's no big deal, only the 1st stage. And the camp date clashes with other schools.

So stressful, must produce 2 min video clip presentation during camp.

Erm, no, it must be produced before the camp.

And so big deal, all docs need to be certified. I suppose just bring the original and ask SST to certify themselves lah. siao.
