my k2 boy was with enopi square 2 since aug.

it was ok, just kumon, basic drilling of addition n subtraction. he did improve and able to do basic addition n subtraction quite fast now.
but lately it was lots of repetition of the same bklet, so i withdrawn

                Hi mummies,

This thread is very quiet now. Having heard of Kumon, Enopi and other maths enrichment which offer the same style (worksheets and teacher mark/guide type), I'd like to know how is this different from buying our own maths assessment/critical thinking books from Popular and let our kids do at home? Is there something that we as parents cannot do, that enopi/kumon offer? Sorry to sound very blur, cos I have not sent my boy to any enrichment before so reading up and trying to know more now, before I make the decision if he needs any enrichment of any kind. Tks!! 🙂

if ur child is obedient, and u know what to teach, can teach urself.

i send my kids only becos its more structured, and cos my kids are not the logical type by nature so i rather start them on math early. there are many kids who excel in maths without math enrichment in preschool age. but mine seem to lack logical thinking, so i find that start early is better

I totally agreed with 24hr-mum as it depends how you feel for your children. It better to start early then we get worried at the later stage where their foundation is weak.

Tks 24hr-mum & Monster Mummy for your advise.

Yes I agree with you…better to start early that later. Actually, my DS is ok to sit down and do worksheets for about 45mins-1hr daily on wkdays, but I feel these worksheets are after all very dry and can get quite repetitive after a while. Im thinking if there’s any enrichment out there which can help in critical thinking and analysing, or some skills that doing doing worksheets can’t achieve? I dun want ds to become a boring child, though he doesnt complain much.
