Haha, I bought it today too - rushed all the way from T. Pagar to Chinatown mkt this morning .. $4 a bunch. That stall just sells plants that are used for healing, as herbs etc. Very interesting. Stallowner said must cut away the leaves, soak the roots & peanut for 30mins then remove the soil. Boil with pork rib or black chicken for 2 hrs.

Well, so long as it works, I don't mind to go all the way there to buy more often!

Wow, so it really worked on your boys, Jennifer! How often and for how long did your boys take the soup?
$4 a bunch, how big is yr bunch ?? i only paid for $1+
ya, most impt is so long it works ๐Ÿ˜‰

  Tomorrow and Sunday morning cannot leh... Got to fetch DD for class, unless Monday... but by Monday, all will be gone! ๐Ÿ˜ข

But the problem is that the stall may not even be open on Monday. Most market stalls close on Mondays, at least the one at my place does! ๐Ÿ˜›

        Good Luck! ๐Ÿ˜‰

          Jennifer:

Actually this soup is not very tasty. Esp the raw peanut smell. Sometimes bitter too. My MIL wld add more ground peanuts n also dried scallops to sweeten the soup.

Think my children had this peanut root soup at least once a mth then. We stopped when it was the flu season n my younger boy developed a persistent cough. So I switched to pork bones soup then and now pork tail bone soup.

I dun make pork bones soup now- too cumbersome to sieve the residue and remove the layer of oil after cooling it in the fridge. Now I use pork tail bones - less oily.

fortunately, the one i boiled is not bitter.
once a month will do ?? i thot every week must drink then can see the effectiveness.
thks for yr pointer of adding more groundnuts,
ya, by adding it will make the soup tastes better.

i read from the net, they recommend peanuts soup with pig's knuckles.

I no time to go hunting or marketing or washing the peanut plant. Will get peanuts with pig knuckles or use pork bone (I believe calcium is good). Maybe add in black bean to ่กฅ่ก€. Add scallop for better taste ๐Ÿ˜‰

Since your niece is only 14 she shouldnโ€™t really be worrying much about her height since she is still in her growing years up until 16 or 18 when er bone plates close up. Having artificial hormones will only have side effect or may have possible bad drawbacks to her so i suggest that she should avoid getting such. proper diet and exercise should continue stimulating her growth hormones. After her growing years and she reaches her maximum height, thatโ€™s really about her genetic make-up.

seems that wet markets are selling the peanut plants at higher price,
                      as compared to supermarkets.
(same goes for some of the vegetables.)
