DVL, when I mention dsa using sports, I also included non-academic talents like dance, music etc. If a student is strong academically, she wouldn't need to use non-academic talents to gain entry to a gd sch. For parents of bright kids who wanted 'insurance' to a gd sch as you mentioned, then they are just very kiasu. If COP of a gd sch is 260 and parents feel that their kids are in the 255+ range, then they should apply thru DSA, using academic , to try to secure a place in that sch. If students are always producing A* in all their subjects, then there is really no need to try dsa. Of cos, some feel less stressed during psle when they got a sch thru dsa.

I think there is an underlying assumption here: that potential academic strength is equivalent to a good psle result.

I am thinking is it possible that a student has academic potential but just isn't good at exams?

potential academic strength = intelligence (in my opinion)
Without the right attitude and diligence, they would not be able to get good psle results.

Thank you. Thank you. I will definitely be following your list for the next 2 years as it will be my dd's psle year then.

Can I just clarify, is the 1st column supposed to read Sec 1-09 instead of Sec 1-01?

Hi aqeqiq, thanks for pointing out! :celebrate: You are right, it's supposed to be Sec1-09 and not 01. My apologies, old already lah! Have edited it. πŸ˜‰

By the time your daughter's time comes along, you won't be needing the 2009 figures anymore, so I suggest that you keep on eye on the last 2 years preceeding your girl's PSLE, that should suffice.

You are most welcome, Brenda10. Yes, it is very useful as the official booklet will only be distributed to the students in October. It's good to know the various COPs prior to getting that official booklet from the MOE.

Yes, jtoh, it definitely took me more than 25 hours to compile that. In fact, it took me two days to compile, check, edit and host it up. πŸ˜‰
