Then sure shot you qualify for 2C! I have 2 - a girl and a boy for P1 next year (twins)!
oh wow!! settle for both of them liao...i heard from the teachers at my son's pap that so far the school has been gaining popularity...there will even talks that this year will probably get balloting in one of the early phases as some of the siblings will start to join the school...
wondering if phase 2C will get into balloting part....
do the students really carry their homeworks in the thumbdrive? do they carry heavy books to school like the rest? when you say they do reading and writing, is it like spelling all these stuff?

Yes, the school is getting to be popular. This year apparently in 2C if you were > 1km, no chance. This year, siblings some more!! This year they are expecting 2C to also maybe go for balloting.

The bags I see the kids are taking looks quite similar to what other kids take. I have not seen the P1 & P2 kids use a thumb drive for hw. I think they will put the basics in place before they start using IT....

I think you may be just under 1 km for BPPS. Just check the stats on the last day and see your chances. Last year Beacon called everyone >2km to ask them to withdraw before the last day as there were more apps than seats by the 2nd day. What you should do is register in 1 school first. Then with 2 sets of docs you and your husband park yourself in each school and monitor. Around 4pm see the stats and decide whether to withdraw from school 1 or not. If yes one parent withdraw and immediately the other parent register in school 2.

Why are there so many kids that are within 2 km from Beacon.

Looking at the radius from the school, there should not be so many kids.
Would it be a case many parents using their grandparent’s address to register? This is not fair for those who stay in the area. Maybe they should create a separate phase for these people.

                hotfudgesoda,

Beacon has become quite popular, hence this. This inspite of the fact that more than half of it's radius does not have any buildings. If you are registering using a grandparents address, then even if you are within 1 km, you are pushed to 1-2 km.

Btw, which block are you staying in?

You might be under 1 km, not too sure as last year blk 213 was shown as >1km.

I really wonder how it is decided.
I remember one of my friend went to an open house and it seems they just draw a circle to represent the 1km radius.

                      Have they changed their mind?

I was also surprised with this. I would think 213 which is near would be within 1 km, whereas my block which is 175 which is further away is within 1 km. Yes they take the school as the epicentre and then draw a circle of 1km on all sides...
