I already wrote to Mrs Jaya requesting to meet with her. If there's a problem with my son, I want to hear it right from her mouth. I'm so so angry too. DS has always loved Eng and Lit, even got an A last year. His CT compo grade is not only unspeakable but his humour and creativity in his writing were put down with her nasty comments and penalized. My DS was upset when he described his paper to me. I'm waiting to see the compo myself.

My DS shares your DS's feelings, he started to dislike his 2 most favourite subjects. I feel so angry that there's such a teacher who kills the joy of learning!! DS mentioned that she often doesn't conduct her classes. Asked them to do a simple worksheet with the 2 periods of 1hr10min when it can be easily completed in 10 minutes or brought home as homework. What a complete waste of time! She seems to dislike this class a lot too as she spends more time scolding the boys.

I definitely must meet with her as this is streaming year. Can't let her jeopardize DS's overall results. :x :x

I toally agree with you. DS said she taught them Verb Form (Past Tense) which was taught in Primary School! She should be teaching them things that the boys should be learning in Secondary level, don't you agree it's a waste of time? Nasty and rude comments were also appeared on my DS's work. Encouraging words would be better to the boys even if they are not doing well in the work so as not to make them dislike the subject and as you said jeopardize their overall results, am I right? I think it's a good idea to meet her and clarify these problems, I totally support you.[/quote]Will you be going to the PTM next Fri? I hope this year's will be more fruitful.

So shock to hear so many negative feedback about the teacher! Wondering if I have made the wrong choice selecting this school for my DS. Have you though of bringing this matter to MOE?

There are good teachers around too. Their form teacher is quite caring, I believe. Last yr their English teacher was fantastic too. Too bad she left the school. I have already drafted a letter about the teacher for the Principal. But I really don't want to go that far. Still hoping that there's a better tomorrow...

She is kind and helpful, unfortunately she retired and DS said he saw her in school sometimes as she was back as a relief teacher. Really hope that it will be better tomorrow otherwise change of teacher would be better for the boys.

Guess you need to bring to Principal's attention immediately and request him to do something about it. Teachers play a very important roles as they can motivate or make the students hate a subject. For those without patience with children, they shouldn't be even considering teaching as their career! Hope we will have less of these 害群之马 in MSHS.

I called the school yesterday and was told that teacher will hand a form to us if we are interested in attending PTM. DS says teacher has not hand him the form yet. Let's wait for next week to see if the form will be hand out.

BTW, Sec 2 parents, do you know there’s a streaming talk on the 25th of March? Have your boys gotten the notification? I emailed the school about streaming criteria to do A Math and Double Science. They informed me that in MS, all will do A Math. To do Double Science need 70% for both Math and Science subjects and at least 70% for Overall Results (for a 8-subject Double Science class), or at least 65% for Overall Results (for a 7-subject Double Science class).
