It would really be very sad for those affected GRLs although their contributions would still be highly regarded. Somehow, i wished it could be a happy ending. :D[/quote]
I thought contributions as a GRL should be towards the community and not just for Phase 2B? -

Err... Got say like no say. Of course this is a politically correct answer. There will be changes to fit into the new boundaries
last week I wrote to MOE to ask which constituency the schools (which I am interested of) would now belong given the electoral boundaries annoucement on 24/02/2011. A while ago, they replied me to say that they need some time to work out whether there are schools which are affected due to the electoral boundaries announced recently and will advise accordingly when they have the confirmation. -

Yes but GRLs also have children that needs to go to Primary school so it would be double happiness if they could contribute towards the community and also send their children to the schools within the GRC they serve at the same time. -

Pls allow me to be blunt...
Do u think those parents volunteering to be PVs are all truly just want to help out in the schools? -
Hi all, does anyone know whether it is too late for me to join the NC now so as to qualify for Phase 2B2 for the upcoming registration in Jul?

There are many info. /discussions in the earlier pages of this thread which may help you understand the general time frame required.

Join this time last year already too late, not to mention now. In general and to be safe, time frame is 2 years. -
Thanks for your replies and advice. I read the earlier posts and some got their ‘approval letters’ within 6 months…anyway it was a last minute change on the choice of school that prompted me to ask this question at this late stage…

The \"approval letter\" mentioned is not the P2B letter, it's the confirmation/appointment letter for EM. From EM date, you need to serve another 12 months before you are eligible for the P2B privilege. So min. is 1.5 yrs and this is considered quite fast. That's why we said 2 yrs safer. Some more it may takes few months after application (to PA) to start serving as Observer. So all these adds up. Cheers!
