yes. sorry to butt in, but yup, Bio was taken out as a reqmt for medicine in 2004 or 2005.
You don't need Biology for Medicine.jtoh:
Hi,
Hope someone can answer some of my questions....
1) Is it true that once students obtained at least a Pass (C6) for O Level HCL in Year 4, then they no need to take CL up to 'A' levels?
2) For Year 3 Elective (?) selection, I understand one can choose not to take Biology in Year 3. If so, does it means that for Year 4 to 6, the student will not be taking Biology?
3) Any idea which Uni course needs Biology beside Medicine?
Thanks in advance!!!
had students with chem n phy get in before. but of course, the majority in the med fac in nus had taken bio. the fac just doesnt want to lose talent from the pool that didnt take bio.
Thank all for the reply...So, look like it is not really a compusory subject for any Uni course
Really good to know as DS is quite determined not to take Bio elective for his Y3 next year
Well, didn't want him do Medicine but hope that he won't be rejected on his preferred Uni Course because of that :xedfingers: -

Yes...currently RV promotion guideline is at least B4 but CL is really tough for my lazy DS...so, hopefully the new of no need CL from Y5 (if passed O lvl HCL) will make him work harder... :oops:From MOE website about A lvl syllabus
\"You need not take H1 MTL examination if you have obtained a D7 or better in Higher MTL at the āOā level as you would have deemed to have fulfilled the H1 MTL requirement. As MTL is an integral part of the 'A' level curriculum, H1 MTL cannot be replaced with another subject and students should continue to be engaged in the learning of MTL.\"
From my understanding, RV's P is hoping all RV students can get at least B4 in O lvl. This is his initial expectation, he is hoping one day, the students can achieve the standard of A2.
Think this June holiday they are reading ę°“ęµä¼ like last year, he just showed me the book.
Anyone know of any ę°“ęµä¼ drama series that represent the actual story?
Noticed DS absorbed quite well after watching (e.g. Red Cliff) iso reading  -
ę°“ęµä¼ , there are two versions of from china. One was quite old and the other was a remake in recent years. Drama can be long with many episodes, dry but very detailed. We bought the older version but did not finish watching all episodes as quite time consuming. You can find summary by google and books from library that explain the links of different characters, they are very useful.

Will there be a test or book review for the students after they finished the book? dd received a copy of xi you ji, but no instructions given at all. Are they supposed to analyse the characters or events or what? :?

Hi DaisyT,

For last year, they used xi you ji for June holiday reading and they were being tested 1 week after school opened.
The test is on the storyline. It is not so easy for my DS which has not much interest in CL but may be not in the case of your DD

The school's is the å°å¹“ē but still quite difficult read because of the storyline and characters within.....
Anyone know of drama with subtitle ?

RV's top student gets 9 distictions. Tan Zhi Xiang
9 distictions in A level is probably a small handful. Less than 5 probably each year.

There are only 2 this year. 1 from RV, 1 from HCI.
RV also has 3 students awarded medals by Institute of Physics for topping Physics. HCI has 2. Total of 10 in Singapore.
So well done RV!
