      Happy Mama:
      Augmum:

蜜 枣 are honey dates, something like red dates but bigger and sweeter,
so dun add a lot like red dates, 2-3 will do, otherwise the soup will be too sweet.

      Ok, :thankyou: Augmum.

      u're welcome.
try out this soup which i mentioned, is really tasty if u slow-boil long enuff (3 hrs or so)
but dun dump everthing in, only the \"dried vege\".

蜜 枣 can also be used for other soup, one of them is watercress soup.

        Fat Mama:
If u cook carrot n potato soup, add a red apple, the soup will be very yummy as apple will enhance the taste.

Very simple just cut the apple into 2 and decore it and cook it the soup. DS n DD loves to eat the cooked apple as well.

        Try it.
oh, i never try adding apples b4, may try it out next time.
i will add in big onions, chopped smaller, the soup taste \"sweeter \"with added onions.

          Hi

Anyone who how to boil peanut plant root with black chicken.. I read in this forum that by drinking this soup can grow taller.. I am trying to cook this but I am a dump in cooking so need exact measurement.. anyone can help me...thanks

          r2010,
i also read fr this forum abt the peanut plant soup, have since boiled the soup b4.
juz buy 1 peanut plant and boil with porb ribs, can add some raw peanuts to enhance the taste.
someone mentioned adding some scallops to it.
and finally add some salt to taste.

Make sure you cut away ALL the leaves - that's the part that causes the soup to be bitter. Wash the root and peanut thoroughly. I didn't add anymore raw peanuts coz that's already quite alot of raw peanuts stick to the bunch of peanut root plant. Add wolfberries and red dates for sweetness. Meat-wise can be dark chicken, pork rib or soft-bone pork meat.
I boiled the 1st time last week - yummy! Boiling it again tomorrow 😄

I din remove the leaves of the peanut plant, and mine was not bitter leh…

am afraid that it may "have some usefulness" to having the roots and the leaves intact
since it is indicated to use peanut plant instead of juz raw peanut.

Green apples are fantastic for soup too. A few green apples, honey dates, dried almond (nan bei xing), huai shan and ribs.

Bittergourd and pineapple goes well together too. My Taiwanese friend said this is the way they cook the soup in Taiwan.

                  Coconut and chicken.

i boil radish soup, just add the walnut in with chicken pieces and some wolfberries seeds and red dates. i usually will add some nuts like raw cashew nuts into soups too, so i thought to replace raw cashew with walnut but my soup turn out so brown..raw cashew & walnut are good for us and also for kids.
