I believe the key in this question is about 'the layer of oil blocks/prevents the air/oxygen to enter the water'. The dissolve part is not actually taught yet.
i agree with dyh, the key words is \"lesser air\" in setup B. because son write the oil prevents the air to enter the water but didn't mentioned about lesser air and was marked wrong.E3:
i think your dd's answer is better than the teacher's model answer.
Really?! :thankyou: though I am not sure whether it's really what PH's teachers wanted. I think in order for her to think this way, it seems pretty scientific to me already although I did have something to say about the \"entering into the water\" part. I don't quite like the word \"entering\", thought \"dissolving\" should be more appropriate.

My girl's answer has no 'lesser' but was marked 'right'. Ok..I think I know why..comparison. She has a second part which i thot unnecessary earlier on. That could be why she got it 'right'. It goes...Hence she wrote for 2nd part:
The layer of oil acts as a barrier, preventing oxygen from entering the water, therefore, the guppy in setup B will die when the oxygen is depleted in the water.
\"On the other hand, set up A allows oxygen entering into the water continuously. As a result, guppy in set up B is likely to die before guppy in setup A.\"
Lor-so.

See, your dd make a full story while my ds only half way through.
BTW, I like you dd's answer about the difference between two cycles. Very smart. -

Anyway, both ε¨θ·θ₯ and ζ» η΅εΈ«ε€ͺ seem very foreign to me.. I don't know who or what you both are talking about. :? -

I think when they ask such question, they are looking for comparison..'lesser', 'hotter', 'shorter' are comparison. Or lor lor so so like mine to state how one differs from the other. I hope I am right.
My girl also heng..this question has an empty space below..she utilised it well.

Aiya...almost slipped my mind! We have teachers here! E3 & Happy Mama (& anymore...who else Science teacher?)...can advise?I think when they ask such question, they are looking for comparison..'lesser', 'hotter', 'shorter' are comparison. Or lor lor so so like mine to state how one differs from the other. I hope I am right.
Haha...my girl just asked me not to say she lor so. She said if only write the 1st sentence, it is only explaining \"why the guppy wil die\" not \"who die first\". -
Funx3:
Err strictly speaking, E3 is the one who started it first when she promoted Happy Mama to Ermei Zhan Men Ren. I only ask whether she looks like ε¨θ·θ₯ but then you have to suggest Botox for the older nun (which we all agree no way is Happy Mama going to be look like her, kekeke).

Nevertheless, I have to be honest and admit that *ahem* I'm too young to have the opportunity to watch shows of that era.
