Hi Mummies,
I am wondering if any mummy here has curriculum of P1 English for whole year.
I would like to know what will be taught for Term 2 English…only mentioned what will be taught in Term 1 in the IJ website. This whole Stellar thing is not helpful for parents as there is no textbook to fall back on. Hope to get some advice.
Thanks. -

Could you email or call the teacher?
This is only a rough guide and its 2 yrs old. So, am not sure if 2011 is different. Handouts for the first 3 were given out.
(1) Singular/Plural
(2) Present Tense/Past Tense
(3) Animals, young, sound & their movement & home
(4) This, that, these, those
(5) few, little, any, much, many
Vocab - this is wide ranging and helps if your dd reads widely.
The only thing which needed to prepare (i.e. memorise) was the first 3. #4 can confuse some children initially but most children will understand in class. -

Hi Mummies,
After the first term, I’m convinced that I didn’t make a mistake registering my gal in this school…the principal and teachers are ON but yet still give some breathing space. -

No worries. Glad to share what I know. -
Just realised that the school has been very active in organising Workshops for Parents for almost all levels. Initially, I thought it is only for P5 (in preparation for P6) as we’ve attended the Science Workshop & this Fri Math Workshop. But when I went to the web to check, I found that there are Math Workshops coming up for the other levels as well. I am impressed that the school takes the trouble to reach out to the parents so that we can better understand what is expected of our kids & how to better support them/work along with them.

Hi mummies of P1,
Is there any test coming soon or already over? Thanks. -

Hi Honey,
I realized the school has been very nice to conduct workshops for parents. In fact, I've emailed the HOD Maths to ask for permission to attend the P5 Maths workshop as son's school doesn't have any workshop/briefing for Maths. Really very impressed and glad the school is doing all this to help parents understand subjects and also how to teach the kids.
Hubby will be attending this Friday's P5 Maths workshop to teach son...and P1 in April for daughter.
