Some may already there for the holiday...just watched news that death toll up around 300, but no S'porean casualties so far...

        This is so unfortunate.

I cannot imagine how many more Singaporeans will be affected if it had happened a few days later, especially since this is the March school holidays and many people may choose to bring their kids to Tokyo Disneyland.

Ya probably those who left yesterday. Can you imagine 69,000 people were playing and having fun at Disneyland when the earthquake hit them?
It is so scary and sad to see how the waves swept all the cars and houses.

I expect the death toll to increase much more, since this quake and tsunami is so major.

                  rosemummy:

The Japanese will come through this. I remember an ex-colleague telling me how his parents walked for 2 days to get to the disaster site during the Kobe earthquake to help the victims. All the roads were closed to traffic and the only way to get there was to walk. And many others are doing the same. That's the beauty of a society like Japan.
                  That's very heartening to hear.

My heart breaks as I watch many lose their homes and loved ones.

I saw the pic of the giant whirlpool in the ST…was taken from a helicopter. Just looking at the picture is scary enough…can you imagine what will be like at that place ?
