Hi Brenda,
Hopefully ds doing past year paper will not find it so challenging anymore...
cheers
Leanne
Hi Leanne
I am not too worried as this is the exercise that helps them to understand and learn various methods to attempt to question.
I also tell dd to KIV and escalate the problem if she still cannot understand after her teacher teaches.

100% will be tested since the exam is on 1st week of May and there will be sufficient time to cover this topic. Don't think any school want to take the risk to skip this critical topic to prelim.
Just my 2 cents thought
Best Regards -
Hi Brenda,

Hi Leanne
I think should be the beginning of the week lah and we should have sufficient time to practice. -
Hi Brenda,
Really hope so.
I am not sure how ds can catch up on this, as the methods in solving the speed question still not very good.

Mommies, you are all still working very hard this term break!
So you actually self-teach the maths topics before the school ?
So far I try to keep pace with the school but getting into term2 of P5, I am re-thinking.Leanne:
Leanne, I bought based on strong recommendation of my neighbour whose dd did very well for PSLE maths. It is very unlike onSponge, A* booklets etc but more on the systematical thinking, visual spatial kind of questions eg. climbing stairs, expotentially how many boxes at position xth...those kind. Not grouped according to P4/5/6 or topics eg. fraction, speed but the type of problem so some are simpler and some more complex...Did you happen to buy the series of math tricks, think its by raffles or something like that ?Think have a few series.
Anyone bought?
The books are actually published by the same people running the speedmaths camps for P6s. For each type of questions, a fast method to derive solution is provided. I feel it still takes tutor/parent to explain the concept so it is understood instead of just memorising the procedure. -

Hi Leanne
I think the only way is to expose to all types of questions that ask under speed and hopefully they gain enough experience to attempt to the questions.

Thank you pixiedust.

Pixiedust,
Thanks.
I brought ds to browse through the series, and he says he only like one particular one as the rest of the questions can be found in past year exam papers.I yet to take a closer look at the book.
You bought the whole series?
