Order from Dangdang

Finally I managed to order the books!


I used my old ICBC card and after battling with problems with the so called “U 盾” and the token password I finally payed for the books. I got the message from dangdang of the successful payment just seconds after. Never I gotten so excited over paying money.

A big thanks to all who helped me!

Ill come back to this form and post when I get my books!

You mean the 喜羊羊 DVD? Whichever set you wish to buy is based on your preferance. I do not know what features does the set bought by kee kee have. My set is frill-free, it does not have English subtitles, only Chinese. It comes in a big cardboard box, the 4 DVDs are in plastic pockets nested in it. There are 128 episodes, each is about 15 mins or so I guess, including opening and closing credits.

I know my kids like the show, so I dare to buy one with so many episodes. Plus not that ex when converted to SGD about $12.70 so I just went ahead.

There's a minimum shipping cost of RBM 50, so make sure you buy enough to accumulate at least that amt or else not worth it. The shipping cost for each item is 50% of the item retail price not DD price.

Here, we are so excited to buy from DD that we usually do our own transaction :lol:

Just to add the big cardboard box has the xi yang yang's pic and oher infor. It's not just a plain box :lol:

I bought those 200 plus episodes which don't have the good deal. It comes in hard cover box like encycopedias. So i think i'm paying for the packaging. I will buy the frill-free set that SAHM_TAN bought this time round.

It would be difficult to organise sprees in view that dangdang sends out the items via normal mail. Once dangdang sends out the parcel, there is no way spree organiser can track the parcel. The delivery time is close to 2 months. Difficult for organiser to give spreeists status update and risk of lost mail. The spree organiser at SMH also not accepting dvd orders. Guess with a smaller parcel, custom may take it as own consumption and closes one eye. Large parcels are subject to close scrutiny.

actually, can let u click more times also like shopping right? relieve some of ur stress.

nowadays hardly buy anything for myself...so whenever I feel I need to shop, itz usually for the home or kids. release a little stress this way~

I think that no one will ever do sprees here, because there is no cost savings at all if we order together. For example, if you order RMB200 of books, and another mommy order RMB200 of books. If both of your books are submitted together, each of you still pay the same shipping if you order separately.

People will do sprees only if they can earn money out of it. There are sprees in SMH forum, and the organizers are definitely earning a tidy profit. Organizing a spree requires effort and time, no one likes to work for free. I used to organize large sprees (in the other forum) involving many people, and it takes a lot of effort to check the orders to make sure that there are no mistakes, to sort out the items when they arrive, to contact the buyers and arrange for pickup, to wrap up the books and queue at post office, etc. I was doing it because there were cost savings(from USA websites), but it is simply not worth the amount of time and effort.

Recently I had some bad experience organizing sprees. I made a mistake ordering one extra item. One woman insisted that I pay her reward points in cash. Both cases caused me to lose money. So I don't feel like organizing sprees anymore.

Note that the sprees in SMH forum offer the cheapest shipping rates for dangdang , but I don't know how reliable the organizers are. The SMH forum is not properly controlled. There have been many cases of organizers disappearing after collecting the money.

I would suggest that you make friends with someone who can order from dangdang and send a private message to him/her to ask if he/she can order for you. No one will openly organize sprees here because it is too much effort and no rewards.
