      Hi Champion,

The Learners title 'English Grammar for Students' is a reference/guide book for parents to teach the kids on basic Grammar rules. If I were to compare between this Learners title and Teachers' Production, I would choose the latter as it comprises both Grammar and Vocab...more useful in my opinion.

Anyway the blue one (P1/2) looks like this.

I like this other 2 titles for Grammar and Vocab.

        Hi Janet,

Thanks so much for your clarification once again; appreciates so much :thankyou:

I have spent this morning (about 2.5 hours) with DD1 for the Chinese. I really feel so tired and decided to log onto this webpage to take a break 😉

DD1 did the 3 following books:
        (1) 小三华文每课复习 P3A - 怡学出版社. Author:陈岩 (unable to find the pic to upload)

        (2) http://postimage.org/image/ntnqx7o/

        (3) http://postimage.org/image/1es85ihfo/

DD1 managed to complete the Term 1 topics in Book (1) and (3) as she has been doing most of them but was very lazy to do Book (2) as I just bought her this recently 🦆

In my own opinion - Book (3) covers more 项目 so the questions are more challenging. Book (1) is much easier and the 阅读理解 and 理解问答 are simpler but book (1) has the closer to DD1 CA1 exam format

I did a simple comparison chart between the 项目 between the 3 books but is in Excel format and I don't know how to upload here to share with parents here :slapshead: ..I can be label as an \"IT Idiot\" as Hubby always commented :rotflmao:

          HI Champion,

No worries...exchanging some tips on assessment books is fun 😉

You may want to take a look at the 2nd one and consider as it's not EPH or Victoria.

            Hi Champion,

You may want to consider these other titles. Personally, I prefer Cai Yun Fei, Huang Hai Jun and Wei Yuan (Victoria). First 2 authors are from EPH.
The impt sections are hanyu pinyin (choosing the correct option), duan wen tian kong, wan cheng dui hua, bian zi ce yan, wan cheng ju zi and of course OE comprehension.

              Hi janet_lee88,
Can you elaborate more on this 'Teachers' Production'? Is it the same as Teachers@work?
              Thanks.

                Hi Champion,
I have the (2) book as well. Although I find that the sections inside are quite basic and is tempted to buy yet another book, I still have other books to be completed. The sections in this book is similar to my child's school exam format too.

I bought the SAP MCQ CL Vocab and Bian Zhi Che Yan (Chinese Word Usage) to supplement the above book. It is in MCQ format, so very 'user friendly'.

                  Hi janet_lee88,
Is hanyu pinyin (choosing the correct option), wan cheng dui hua, wan cheng ju zi part of 'PSLE' format? The above are not in my child's school exam format since last year, so I tend to choose books that does not emphasize these sections. Another one is the 'matching' of phrases (eg 'yao bai' match to 'sheng ti' etc). Are these important?
                  Many thanks.

                    Hi Janet,
Thanks for your advice again - I have the 1st one - bought from IMM Popular last week when the other time you recommended to use 😄

Heee...another good \"excuse\" to go Popular again - I will go comb thru books by above authors before deciding whether to buy  Guess DD1 has enough at the moments 😉

How about Chinese assessment books that have practice for sentence reconstruction 词句重组?

My dd’s sentence is totally 不顺

But strangely, the HCL assessment book I bought does not even have this section. That’s why I thought P3 no longer testing 词句重组… but I saw this in her test recently

Get the 冠军王 for HCL. I got it for my dd last yr P2, and I personally think it is v good (cos' she improved from 80+ for practice tests to 90+ for SA2, she didn't go for chinese tuition...), so I bought it again for her in P3. It does have 词句重组.
