DD school only order 大拇指 (Upper Primary) for HCL class and we order ourselves and paid $40 for one year subscription with 34 ji.

I read the Chinese article and it was mentioned that one reader’s daughter in P5 is also reading 《大拇指》…so wondering if I should proceed. But need to find out if daughter’s school will be ordering for kids so that I do not pay twice.

I think is good to have at least one like 知识报，新列车 etc Since your dd is still young then this the best time to build up the habbit of reading all these magazine. Hopefully the school will subscribe for her.

I think is good to have at least one like 知识报，新列车 etc Since your dd is still young then this the best time to build up the habbit of reading all these magazine. Hopefully the school will subscribe for her.

Daughter has <hao>, son has 知识报. I hope the school will subscribe for the kids so that I can boost her reading material from young. Called person in charge mentioned in the article and she told me to wait for 2 weeks to see if school ordered. Thanks

The first thing which came into my head is, 'she's just in P1' Maybe her teacher has a way to coach them...I get so mad coaching her for ting xie every week. After writing hanyu pinyin for 叶子，写字，二月 so many times last night, she still couldn't get it...it's really up to my neck.

I remember let dd practice the HYPI many years ago by using an interactive learning CD and it did help to improve the recognition and listening skill. Perhaps you want to consider or source for any suitable one that makes the learning more fun.

I will try...honestly I don't know what is wrong with this girl. My son dislikes Chinese but he will still get work done and still do ok for his exam...for my gal, she dislikes it and will not attempt to improve.

You mean \"大拇指\"? This is a weekly magazine. Think by fridays, most of the copies would have been sold out. Look out for the next issue during the early week, such as mondays to wednesdays? HTH.
