RE: My daughter said "NO" often. WHY?
Actually both my dd and I we often say no to each other.
Me - no iphone / ipad
no sweets / tibits
no tv
no playing
no buying stationaries in school
no buying sweet drinks in school
DD - no, doesnt want to finish her meal, milk
no, doesnt want to do homework
no, doesnt want to bath
no, doesnt want to go home, wants to go out and play
The above are only some of the \" nos \". I try not to deprive her of the games and treats but it is often asked at the wrong time or excessive eg, she wants sweets after 9.30pm. :stupid:
I know that it is unhealthy for us to say no to each other too often. Actually when dd was young, i told myself that I will use positive teaching but as the years past, it seems to move towards negative teaching :?: -
RE: The Alternative Story (TAS) - Discussion
Hi ccgoh
Thank you for your reply. One more question, do they give homework to the kids?
I will probably bring dd down for their assessment first and also see if dd like the school. Can pm yr kids details for referral? -
RE: The Alternative Story (TAS) - Discussion
I would like to find out from parents if there is any improvement in their kids who attend TAS class especially for P1 & P2. I am thinking of sending dd to TAS but there are so many enrichment centres around that I do not know if this is the right enrichment centre for her. DD's teacher commented that she is weak in creative writing. :?:

RE: Boy, 2, dies after being hit by mum's car
Recently when I was to move my car forward, instinct kinda held me back...then within a split second, I realised that there was a very small kid moving across the front of my car!
[/quote]
That happened to me once at an open car park... there was a little girl who is about say 3 or 4 yrs old who just run pass my car. I had to jam brake for her.
Something that I dont understand is that why didnt the parents hold her hand in car park? They are drivers too, cause they parked in the same car park. They should know how dangerous it is for kids to run across the car park. -
RE: Boy, 2, dies after being hit by mum's car
Its a very sad thing that u caused hurt to someone due to your carelessness... worst if the one u hurt is your very own child. Imagine the guilt the mother has to live with for the rest of her life.

RE: All About White Hair
I am also getting more white hair nowadays… Can anyone share on where to get henna products and how to use it, ie DIY. Do u need to do it like in salon when they colour your hair - section by section and layer by layer?

RE: Q&A - P2 English
Hi Yong HL
Sorry if I sound blunt in my last post. DD is in p1 and i am still not use to and cannot agree to the "teach less, learn more"… -
RE: Q&A - P2 English
Yong HL:
I still cannot understand how can you \"teach less, learn more\"... is it possible for you to \"work less and earn more\"???nms1:
[The teacher needs to realise that it is her job not yours to teach your child.
Sadly, now is the era of \"Teach less, learn more\". Schools expect children to learn more from external sources... Most parents disagree on this new education approach from other forums i read.. -
RE: Q&A - P2 English
yes, the school teacher did do a few creative writing with the class. but looking at dd's work, i think she does not know how to write
Any advise?
