difficulty level 1 n 2 I make her do every thing. level 3, I go through the Qs and Mark the ones she can do first, then others I explain first and then ask her to try.

Wah plum-cake, I admire your persistance and your dd's endurance level!!! :salute: Mine didn't have so much time to do so many questions (plus she has onsponge, plus other subjects, plus CCA, plus playtime, plus reading time, ++++ sigh.....) So I typically mark out those questions that I think are interesting and those I think she need more practice on, even for level 1 & 2. She likes to try some questions in the Critical Thinking section, and I'll let her do it, but I don't \"force\" her to complete all. I also like the diagnostic tests and CA/SA tests in the book.

The BIG problem for her, after so many practices on problem solving, is that she can score full marks in Section C, but can lose many marks in \"easy\" questions from Section A and B (a.k.a. careless mistakes). This kind of careless mistakes assessment books how to solve?!?!? Any tips on reducing careless mistakes (a bit OT)....?

level 1,2 I ask her to finish all the Qs but NOT in ONE DAY. 1 page a day. next day we try a page from fan math so on.

I met a mother who's son is in K2 doing Kumon maths. she told me 5 sheets per day and her son is doing division, (dividing 3 digits by 2 digits) on top of that English 10 sheets and CL as well. he go to kinder starting 8.30 - 12.30 then 2 days for kumon, eng speech n drama on sat.day, swimming on sundays etc etc. So I thought My P2 is better than that. Time management is prob for me as well. at the same time she needs practice as well. I don't force her to do.

Maybe we are too complacent  . Only have time to let P3 DS try own school's past yr papers. Hardly have time to try other schools. Personally, I think it is quite sufficient. His Maths results have been in the 90 range so far. Where do your kids find time to do so many external assessments :? ?

Hi Plum-cake & Janet - Indeed I can understand the \"sickness\" in seeing assessment books šŸ˜‰.. I still go Popular but I stand there to read thru and keep the temptation not to buy. My DD1 is \"grumbling & complaining\" that she has too many assessment books lioa 😢 So Mummy here has to curb the itch to buy

Heh heh, Atan, I think you are lucky to have a very bright son who is good in Math with min practice (and min careless mistakes - to achieve 90+)! Not all of us are that lucky leh, so must 将勤蔄拙! So assessment books, here we come!!

ps. Where do u get your own Sch past yrs' papers? Usually i can only find ONE year of past paper per school in the market (unless u buy other years of similar bundle)?

                    Hi,
In my personal opinion, if your child can do well in NYPS past year papers, his math is very good (congrats!). I only give my child NYPS papers after his exams as (1) the standards are way above his school standards ie I prefer him to try out other past year papers which are similar to his school's standard (2) I don't want to demoralise/scare him.
