Yes, last year we attended the open house of a elite sch, were very disappointed with the indifference and unhelpfulness of the students, so we struck off that sch. After we attended RV open house, we submitted the 6 choices immediately. 😄

Yes, that's why I strongly recommend that parents and kids attend Open Houses.

Absolutely agree ![/quote]Even if it is important, it is usually decision between school A or school B which is very close in standard and in the same band. It is unlikely someone will chose a school that is two band lower just because of nice experience at open house. Maybe it has some effect but not so exaggerated or am i wrong?

Series of good news from rv since moving to Boon Lay. Does it augers what is coming?

I am not sure you people have realised a subtle difference in the way rv counts thing. If it is true, rv's A level results may be better than we have felt.

See this statement in the website:

\"23 students obtained 7 distinctions (including distinctions in General Paper, Higher Chinese Language and Project Work)\"

The key point I want to stress is that they include only students with distinctions in all 3 , GP, HCL and PW. While those that may obtain 7 distinctions but a B for GP, for example, are not included in this number. This is a more stringent criteria of counting since the 7 distinctions number provided by other schools are all a more general number that need not require a distinction in GP, HCL and PW.

Am I correct? Maybe someone can enlighten me?

hmm.....to me, my perception of the sentence u wanna to highlight is......
becos of the word \"including\" which mathematically means that out of the 23 students,
it did include students with distinctions in GP, HCL and PW.
So, it does not meant \"ONLY comprises of \".
anyway, juz my view and interpretation.

My interpretation of the statement is:

RV had 23 students who scored 7 distinctions. Of these 23, all of them scored distinctions in GP, HCL and PW.

It doesn’t mean that if you had 7 distinctions but didn’t score A in GP/HCL/PW, you wouldn’t be counted in the list.

ok, prompt me to take a look at RV “A” level results at its website, (but weihan Y still talking abt A level results now ? 😉 )

notice, 2 diff ways of reporting for diff cat.

                        as it stated
\"23 students obtained 7 distinctions (including distinctions in General Paper, Higher Chinese Language and Project Work)\"

\"44 students obtained 6 distinctions (which may include distinctions in General Paper, Higher Chinese Language and Project Work)\"

so prob the 1st statement referring to the number of students with distinctions in GP, HCL and PW,
while the 2 nd statement, the number of 44 inclusive of such students.
