      dilemma
      last edited by

      Hi

My gal just went to HPB last month and she has to be on glasses. Her reading is 250 per eye. You will be given a reading by the optometrist in HPB and you just need to bring the reading to any optical shop, no need to have eye tested again.

We went to Optical 88 and made a pair of glasses for $120. Later, when we shop around, we realise Spectacle Hut selling cheaper and nicer children's frames. You may want to go have a look.

I also bought a Eye Relax machine for her, hopefully can reduce her power......it's quite expensive, around $624 if you are a Popular Member.......

Are you going to a private refraction clinic? You can check with the clinic if they have some recommended optical shops.

I got some names from the the clinic and I went to Capitol Optical eventually.

Going to the Health Promotion Board (I think) refraction clinic for students (the one that is referred from school). Anyone been there? Was it able to recommend optical shops? Thanks.

        Hi,

Just came back from the HPB refraction clinic this afternoon. Right eye 100 degree; left eye ok. Does anyone know whether is 100 degree considered serious or just slightly myopic?

Hi dilemma, what's an Eye Relax machine? How does it work? Has it been effective so far? Thanks.

          Hi

You may go to this website eyecollege.com.

I still cannot tell if it is effective coz my gal only starts using 3 weeks ago, have to use for at least 3 months. You can call this lady, her name is Rain Su, she will be in a better position to advise you. She had been very patient with me as I asked her a lot of questions before I decide to buy.

I bought from Energie, they are the agent for this machine. Have to use every day, one eye 8 minute, so both eye around 16 minute. Energie provides quite good aftersales. They will assess my gal again 3 months later. Hopefully this machine works for my gal. She is complaining nose painful due to weight of glasses.......sigh.......

Chanced upon this article about using TCM to address early myopia in children

                http://www.enjoyvisionlife.org/tag/childrens-eyeglasses/

Has anyone tried acupuncture or TCM for early myopia?

Sigh... my P4 son's eyesight has worsened from 75 to 150 in just 1 year. He's still pretty stubborn about reading in dim places. :stupid:
