we went to Popular Expo yesterday during 'Member' period 10-3pm. Stayed for an hour...so crowded. Bought the Conquer Science for P1/2...hope to prepare my gal for foundation this year so as not to stress her too much at end of P2.
We could have rub shoulders there
I can't find the Science process skill assessment at expo.
How is Conquer Science different from Science process skill book? Same publisher -

Hi Janet,
Sorry - got to \"cross forum thread\" to ask you about Science Guide Books
In the other forum, you mentioned u prefer using the following guide books -

Except for the 3rd book, frankly speaking I did not pay much attention to the 1st 2 books - probably because I was so engrossed looking for assessment books that comes with NOTES & QUESTIONS. After speaking to DD1's teacher, she suggests that should get a good GUIDE book to supplement the My Pals' Are Here\" Textbook.
I have got the following last year (when DD1 was in P2) thru recommendation by a friend but find that the notes are too brief

Please do not regret buying the eph booster book.
My DD scored above 90 for science in P3 and 4 and she used that book a lot. The experiments there is useful for section B questions - the observation and conclusions can be used as answers for section B.
For science 1 book is not enough - I have many and I find this is one of the better ones. -

Thanks for your post; appreciates so much.
What other Science booster books do you recommend? -
janet_lee88:
Agreed, this book, \"Science Process Skills\" come with notes on what each assessment is covering. I sit next to DD to work through each question and explain the background concept if she is not clear. The assessment cover small portion of each concept and it is important to dwell in detail for each little one.Hi Champion,
Yes, I can't agree more...always have to ask myself 'Do you need it now ? Control. The temptation is so great.'
No choice, have to manage P1 gal as hubby cannot handle her...but I 'outsource' the learning of spelling to him as it's too tiring to manage every aspect.
Bought 2 assesment books for daughter...one is a Maths heuristic by Andrew Er and Joanne Er, while the other is Conquer Science. Wanted to get Chinese but decided to hold on till year end either BookFest (Dec) or 20% at Popular.
This is not bad.

Hi all,
Not sure if you face the same problem, but I have been having difficulty remembering all those Science stuff and was trying hard to make notes/find materials that helps to summarize things. I also find myself having a headache or falling asleep when facing with lotsa words......
Recently I come across this book - Science Concept Map (from MC) and it caught my attention cos' LITTLE WORDS. And it allows me to actually add-on my own points related to this topic as I read .... so I thought this might be a good book to share

Above 90 for science? :!: That's amazing...science is my son's fav subject but his highest at P3/4 was 80+. This year, I am making him look out for keywords. If only past Year exam papers have answer keys which tells parents what markers are looking for. Please do not regret buying the eph booster book.

Yup agree with one...1 science book is hardly enough and I am talking about assessment books. I have several to expose my som to diff styles/formats of questions. For reference, I stick to PSLE science orange (Marshall cavendish) and EPH ultimate science. -

Conqure Science is the mxiture of MCQ and Open and end questions while Science Process skill is purely on Open and End questions. -

Thanks for the sharing - I also facing unable to sleep or wake up in the middle of the night when DD1's words kept ringing in my mind, \"Mummy, I unable to answer those test questions today; Science is so difficult!\"
Do you know does this book come in lower block for P3/P4? My gal is in P3 but I am unable to find it in the Marshall Canvedish website.
:thankyou:
