Miracle Child:
...my DS's ambition is to be a pilot....there goes the pilot dream

There's a miracle known as Lasik these days
-
AAH yesss... Lasik ...
Been thinkin' about it myself...
There has been known side effects
though few. Think it's worth the risk?
-
My husband and I had lasik done and we are satisfied customers

Anyway, my son knew about this procedure and once when I told him to look after his eyesight....he replied saying that he could go to the clinic where I had \"eye operation\" done to correct eyesight!!!! His last eyesight test in K2 last year also show slight degree...
I tend to suspect the classroom's white board is one of the culprits.
I have also given up the nice warm lights that most homes tend to install to make the rooms look cosier and modern. My whole house is lit with conventional white lights...though I must acknowledge that the rooms look boring at times. I suspect the current modern lightings may be one of the culprits too for the high poor eyesight rate of Singapore children. -

It is apparently quite safe these days. I'm waiting for my long-sightedness to \"stabilize\" so that I can do the... um... \"bifocal\" thing where they correct one eye for shortsightedness and the other for long... or something like that. (ps. why you know why I'm not a doctor  )AAH yesss... Lasik ...

At my age, my \"bio-ing\" skills have been honed to the point where pretty chicks won't even notice it when I bio them, so no fear of them thinking I'm winking at them. Then again, pretty girls won't notice me to begin with

Do anyone know their initial eye check no. mean in Snellen?
my girl without glasses,

Found this link which I thot the explanation is quite clear
http://www.eyetopics.com/articles/35/1/Eyesight-and-Vision.html
In this case, 6 would mean the test was conducted at 6m... The numbers at the bottom for each eye mean the smallest letter that your daughter can see w/o glasses versus the smallest letter that a person with normal eyesight can see at 18metres away for left eye and 24 metres away for right eye. >> This means her right eye is worse off than her left eye.
Btw for me... w/o glasses, I would prob be classified as \"blind\" cos I cant see w/o my glasses >.< -

After reading this:
\"if you have 20/40 visual acuity, the smallest letters you can recognize at 20 feet a person with normal eyesight can recognize when they are 40 feet away. In other words, your visual acuity is only half as clear as that of a person with normal eyesight (20/40 = 50%). \"
so my girls' eye sight is below 50%.
The eye check is coming soon, on july 22. I will see how is her eye sight -
Anyone tried ortho-k (hardlense wear at night) before?
If so, can feedback on which center, result, cost?
