Ahhhhhhhh  so 25hourmaid, our resident masterchef, could be right ๐Ÿ˜„

Haha, me no masterchief! ๐Ÿ˜› Had a bad experience with Bake King's yeast, after that, no more yeast or other things from Bake King for me. I use the big packet (compressed type, think it's a blue packet), sometimes from PH, sometimes from Sun Lik.

May I know what is this compressed type of yeast ? Is it sold in very big packaging ? What is the difference b/w this compressed type and the dry baker's yeast. Is there a difference in the texture of bread using the two different types of yeast ? I used the dry baker's yeast and I find that my bread is not soft and fluffy like those bought from the bakery. Could it be due to the type of yeast I used ? BTW, I used freshly bought yeast.

So happy to find this thread...I love to bake and whenever I can steal time, I will play around with my flour, sugar, butter etc...

Is this thread confine to bread making only? I love to make birthday cakes for my love ones too.......Sorry, the thread is so long and moving fast too that I didnot go back to previous history. Do hope to make friends with passion in baking and share recipes as well as tips..

My not so healthy luncheon meat sweet bun..

My kids love this Kosong sweet bun that they can spread with their favourite peanut butter.

Plan to make Green tea Red bean buns. Anyone knows where I can find the Japanese red bean paste?

              Hi EatNonStop

First of all, welcome to Breadmakers' Club. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, this thread is specifically for Breads and Buns only. There is another thread dedicated to cakes and cookies. Please feel free to post your pictures in the respective threads for us to drool over.

Here's the link to the cakes/cookies thread.

As for Japanese Red Bean Paste, perhaps you may want to try Daiso? Think I might have seen them being sold there.

Wow the buns look very delicious! I love eating tuna and hot dog buns, but not sure how to do it using the machine. Quite troublesome since we will have to manually roll them into shapes.
