Thanks for sharing, e3nity. I love ginger tea. One of the spas I patronize also serves ginger tea and I had also asked them for their recipe. Everything similar except they use rock sugar instead of gula melaka. Mmm, divine.

Hi Happy Mama.. i was told that gula melaka smell nicer.. my mom improvise it by using '黑糖' instead of '椰糖' as she say '黑糖' can '驱湿热' so its a healthier option..

Yah the traditional one is old ginger root with black sugar. Suppose to get rid of chills and also wind.

Wow mmmmm...... But looks like gula melaka is not readily available in Singapore? As for the black sugar, where can we find it? Chinese medicine shop? Thanks. 😄

I boil the cinnamon at the same time as I boil the ginger. I think in all, about 15-20minutes of boiling both ginger and cinnamon.
Seems easy.. i'll try the next round.. thanks.. 😎

Happy Mama, you can get gula melaka in NTUC.. I bought mine in NTUC.. They have 2 packing.. one is the big ones with 2 cylinder-like gula melaka in a packet and the small ones with 4 or 6 cylinder like gula melaka in a packet.. I bought my black sugar or should it be brown sugar from the provision shop.. i think NTUC should have it too.. It should be placed at the dry goods section.. 😉

Ya, then my room will have natural air refreshener. Oops! 😛 😛

                      😐 :faint: :siam: :siam: :siam:

Hmm Happy Mama, remind me to bring along the oxygen tank & mask should you invite me to a game of tt in your house in future.

Btw, I loved ginger tea too. Have it almost every other day; not those Super instant type, but done by dw painstakingly pounding the ginger .... hehe.

I will need the oxygen mask and tank too, especially if you will be drinking the ginger tea and running around playing tt, then you will definitely need the additional turbo (from the ginger tea)... :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

By the way, your DW is so sweet to brew it for you. You are one lucky man! :celebrate: :celebrate:
