This Dec when we go BookFest, I will definitely grab esp for younger kid...maybe even for P3.
For son, I certainly think I have sufficient for PSLE next year.

Ha ha, serious? For me, after going a few Bookfest/Bookfair, PHOBIA. These days, I find the discount not really fantastic, used to find pretty good books at $3, but now, the better ones ~25-30% cheaper only. In fact, I once bought some books on source of chinese words at $1....now it's retailing at >$7 I think.
Anyway, see no point wasting time and petrol there, fight crowd and long queue. At outlet, 20% off, can go through slowly and won't buy in frenzy

Anyway, for me Eng/Chin does not have to be latest edition cos' whatever out of syllabus, treat it as new words to learn

It was not crowded 2 years ago...still have space to walk comfortably without having to say excuse me several times. Last year, carpark at suntec was scary on the first day !! Saw parents literally filling up the bags and I was like 'really that much cheaper meh?' I don't think I want to go BookFest this year (better remind myself). 20% is much better and less stressful than squeezing through the crowd :dowan:


Prob is there is just 1 coupon for 20% in June and dec right? So pathetic. Hubby won't agree to go Suntec again as it is just not worth it.

With the crowd at BookFest, expensive parking and lack of lots at Suntec, forget about going there. Firstly, don't know where the books are placed, so time is wasted finding them. I might as well go to my fav IMM store where I know where the books are placed.

I am getting P2 books since there is promotion from time to time...4 for $10 sometimes...good deal right ?

I was waiting for DD1 to finish her tuition and had the opportunity to chit chat with another teacher who had no class at that timing. She specialised in Maths so I grab the chance to ask her for recommendation for Maths Assessment Books especially those that are for problem sums.


She shared that there are many in the market and apparently Andrew Er, Fabian Ng ones are the most popular as their questions are more challenging. But she said that in order not to kill a kid's interest in doing Maths problem sums, it best to look for one that has different levels and close to school exam format. She showed me the following book that she is currently using with her students. Gosh! I found some familiar questions in the books! Yes, those are the ones that my DD1 teacher extracted out for them to work on. :lol: Also, I turned to the last few pages of the book to look at the answer sheets - the explanation is pretty clear and detailed.

Frankly speaking (and this is only my own point of view) - I never like to buy CASCO publication books - for the reason they never tell you who the author is and never states the year the book is being published. But nevertheless, guess what was my next action? Yes, \"Chiong\" to Popular Bookstore and get the P3 book for my gal :rotflmao:

Thanks for the encouragement - Yes, got the book lioa ..But am not letting DD1 to start on it as she has other assessment books to work on :lol:. I am studying the questions 1st and maybe just randomly pick a few from each topic for her to work on before the coming SA1. Really not easy being a mummy

Yes, I reserve this money to buy for Secondary 1A and 1B instead of 6A/6B as I'm afraid that we don't have time to do.
