      Hi all, My girl alr 7 yr old. Is it too old to start ballet now? :idea:

        No it's not. Go for a trial lesson for the teacher to determine which level she should join. She'll probably start off at Primary level, skipping the Pre-Primary level because she would be more coordinated at this age.

          Hi jtoh, thank you for reply. Oh really she can skip the pre-primary level? Is she will miss out some steps before going up to the higher grades?


          I should bring her for a trial. Do you have any recommend?

            Join as CCA?

            Some schools offer ballet, chinese dance as CCA.

              At pre-primary, many of the little girls aren't as coordinated so they'll do activities to improve coordination. By 7 years old, the girls are able to do more movements so they can proceed straight to Primary, depending on the child and how the teacher assesses the child of course.

              Some schools also offer ballet as an enrichment so you might want to check those out. Although private schools are probably better. Some of the ballet classes conducted at CCs are pretty good too.

                No, not too late. My dd started ballet at 7yo (in P1) last year as well. She went for the trial and was allowed join a Grade 1 class. 😃

                  I joined Chinese folk dance at 14 yr old. I was still very flexible compared wit others. I Cld still do sommersult n 一只马。

                    hi, how do you find the ballet teacher so far? where is the lesson conducted please... as I am looking around for one for my dd. thanks for sharing!
