I was going to suggest getting the exercise bike instead of the treadmill too.

But, Cimman, your post says it all. :goodpost:

Not really. In running, your foot impacts the ground hard and this impact jars on the kneecaps. In cycling, your weight is on the seat, and this minimises the impact on your knees.

Cycling is certainly a better cardio exercise than running, although we tend to think of running as the basic cardio exercise because it has zero barriers to entry - anyone can start running. šŸ˜‰

Besides, we keep seeing images of lean, muscled runners, and we think \"Wow, if I want to look like that I must start running too.\" We don't often see people on exercise bikes, so that's not in our mind's eye at all.

Of course, if all things remain equal, swimming is ideal - but that means getting access to a pool. šŸ˜„

Is it real that cycling only uses the lower body?? which is the best for overall work out? arms legs everything..

Just to add, this OTO machine is using Whole Body Vibration (WBV)

Besides OTO, I think there're other brands

Here's a write up on WBV
              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whole-body_vibration

Anyone tried similar sort of WBV exercise machine?

              Which brand?

How long have you been using it?

              Effective in keeping fit?

              Appreciate your feedback šŸ˜„

My next machine would probably be a treadmil.. perhaps you wana consider that?? AiBi has some nice ones..

                I'm tempted too šŸ˜„
Only drawback is the fixed space a threadmil occupies.

My next \"machine\" is a pair of running shoes šŸ™‚
Saw my neighbour ( dun knw which block )who is a young Fat lady in her early 20 maybe in U or Poly running ard the est. Tog it was a waste of her time cos shes real obesse

Vibration training increases flexibility. Synovial fluid is released into the joints within 90 seconds, resulting in lubrication that enhances movement. Also, the stiff muscles resulting from stiff joints are relaxed and loosened up to move more freely. As the circulation pumps oxygenation into the damaged joints, healing can take place. That is why there are several ways in which whole body vibration increases flexibility, range of motion and decreases joint pain. Osteoarthritis is one of the conditions that can greatly benefit.
