I agree I did think moving him around was possibly not the right thing to do either but I understand holding him upside down was to try to make him sick. He apparently had a belly full of food which is what made this tragedy happen so fast.

They were locals to Batam .

It has also left a very chilling impression in my mind also I can still see his little face so clearly.

      May he rest in peace.

hi , we are staying at HolidayInn come Mar.
To Eat, to Shop, to Spa.

You might want to google \"batam blog\", and fine-tune your priorities/itinerary. The folks here have provided a lot of tips already.
Tons of ideas are floating around 🙂

We stayed over Holiday Inn during Mar holidays.

In our opinion, both HolidayInn and Harries would be decent.
(I suspect Harries Kids' club has more activities)

Before heading home, try some massage.

              Day 2 - Swimming pool - http://sengkangbabies.blogspot.com/2011/03/batam-day-2-family-fun-swimming-and.html

3D2N would be sufficient to explore hotel facilities, and 1/2 city tour.
** the whole emphasis is bunk in and enjoy family time at hotel

i stayed @ Harris for 1 night last CNY. Together with 2 kids which i felt was a real disappointment. Onyl 1 pathetic small playroom for the children with a mini slide, books & toys

other than swimming, really got nothing to do at all at the hotel. the food sucks too. no variety; very limited indonesian hawker food.

but do try the town area. the hotel provides shuttle bus to & fro. 1 timing each way only though. shopping, spa & food much better than the resort itself. IMHOs...
