Which is correct? I thought both are logical answers. Any comments?

Because of \"when it rains\", I am guessing the teacher is expecting answer 2 as the respond to get away from the rain would come first to activate the movement. But, of course, this does show both. This, again, is not quite a good question, in my opinion. What does this question trying to test on, I wonder, EL or Sci?

My child said more suitable answer is 2 because key word is 'look for shelter when it rains'.
It looks straight forward here, but will be tricky if the question is set in those type like
(1) A and B
(2) A only
(3) B only

If the question is set like my example above, I will choose (1 - A&B). If the question is set like the one posted by Sexyviper, I will choose (2 - respond to changes). Then from there just try to get my child to write out something about the weather changes as the stimuli that results in the birds' response to fly away to seek shelter (and to add in 'ability to fly freely from place to place' if my answer includes 'can move by themselves).
Not an expert here, and just learning with you all.

Child's Q: While plant need air to respire and the glass tank has air supply given out by the plant,
(1) do mushroom need air to survive?
(2) what do mushroom uses air for?
(3) if mushroom does not respire the same way as plant ie gives out oxygen, how can it remain alive after five days?

(1) Like all living things, mushroom needs oxygen to carry out cellular respiration to breakdown food (carbohydrate / glucose) into energy which is needed to stay alive. (I think it is covered in P5)

(2) There is such process called \"diffusion\" where oxygen from the atmosphere can enter the cells directly. Therefore, the mushroom can carry out gaseous exchange directly with the atmosphere, taking in oxygen and giving out carbon dioxide. For primary school, a common question is \"which part of the cells allow the cell to respire?\" and the answer is \"cell membrane\" which allows oxygen to enter the cell and carbon dioxide to leave the cell.
