[quote]Oh? But it can be a marriage between 2 people and without any interference... that is if... ... all elders are dead and spouse is the only child.
That's a good one

I guess depends on circumstances..if small matters to hubby, he will ask me not to dwell about it and \"give way\" since mil already old and to appreciate her help with kids and household stuff....then no choice lor...however, small matters wil accumulate to \"big matter\", then hubby will come in \"automatic\" to \"tell his mother off\" before issues turn sour.
You are still lucky, girl!
My hubs would and actually has in fact left all issues to turn sour..
Has soured actually.. and that goes for between me and MIL and
also between me & him for a good 10 years we had to be under
one roof.
Each time reflections of the past conjure up in mind, i try to brush
it off telling myself to live and let live for life is short and that now
i have managed to get my own crib and lotsa personal space, i
shud not be grudging..
But still...
It's tension releasing to come here once in a while and gripe.
Let go of old steam to prepare for new steam.. -

Precisely, what biz does she have opening my fridge and cupboards ?janet_lee88:
You lucky guy. My hubby's sister has no qualms opening my drawers, fridge and cupboards to examine contents. She is NOT welcomed in my house.
but whatever for??!! :? I don't even like it when my kids goes into our drawers...not like we have any secrets but simply coz they have no business there.
Most sickening part is calling HER mother and telling her ? What the hell...is she sent to my house to be a spy ? -
Hey everyone out there,

mil is a gambler, now in debt and say want to kick the habit.
DH suggest that she take care of DS so she wont go gambling.

and I thought it was 'bustier' until I read the rest of the sentence....buds:
... i
do believe i am busier with the kind of generation our children
are in as compared to the auto-run children we were back then
during their time mothering us... that goes for SAHMs, PTWM &
FTWMs as a whole.
Gotta be that AVATAR!!! -

No manners! Do you tell her off?Nebbermind:
Hmmm....looks like I'm the blessed few whose wife has no problem with mom...and even good friend with my sis!!! :celebrate:

Can you tell her your room is off limits to her? So rude!Wah, opening people's drawers, fridge etc.....really no manners leh. Irritating.
Actually, before my MIL shift in she did that too. She would complain to my DH \"Your wife very lazy and untidy. Her things not properly kept and clothes untidy\" :!: Now that she's with us, initially I found her in my room opening my cupboard still.....seems lesser now. But just not too long ago, my hubby was teasing me about not enough working clothes, immediately she was in my room opening my wardrobe and telling DH there's a lot of unironed clothes hanging over at the other room. :x ACE
