Yes, those in sports cca are expected to get gold.sall:
Heard that there is no retest for NAPFA test. Students in sports cca will be kicked out if they can't get GOLD  Another worry for dd...

You'll be kicked out of your sports CCA if you don't get gold?? Isn't that rather severe? After all, you might excel in bowling but may not be able to do sit and reach? -

oh dear! is it true that those in sports cca must get gold?! then die lah, my son said he has problems with sit and reach. though he is okay with the restโฆi recalled reading the earlier posts that gold is a must if they were to be selected for competitions. if they canโt get gold, they can still stay in the cca but they wonโt be able to take part in competitions.
gosh, not easy to get gold lehโฆ -

if being kicked out, likely would end up in UG,
bceos only UG has \"unlimited\" vacancies.
wish yr gal all the best...... -

Gold is not that difficult to get if you're fit, but it is a daunting requirement that you MUST get gold in order to stay in a CCA. Unnecessary pressure.oh dear! is it true that those in sports cca must get gold?! then die lah, my son said he has problems with sit and reach. though he is okay with the rest..i recalled reading the earlier posts that gold is a must if they were to be selected for competitions. if they can't get gold, they can still stay in the cca but they won't be able to take part in competitions.

Ya, guess you are right. Anyway, they don't need triple sc to do any course in varsity, I think they need 2 sc for some of the course like pharmacy or medicine...
no doubt, Bio is not mandatory for courses like medicine, (assuming pupils w/o Bio)rosecy:
Is it always 2 humanities subjects for Y3? Heard that some Y4 are doing 1 humanities and 3 sciences. Wonder why they make 2 humanities compulsory. I feel that it's easier to score for sc subjects than humanities.
my guess is to have a more balanced education. getting high scores should not be a major factor in subject combi selection. student may end up doing something they have no interest in.
anyway those who take triple sci in Y3/4 r not taking triple sci for A lvl as all of them will be taking math which will then allows 2 other sci subjects.
is best to take Bio as it gives the pupil a better foundation,
who knows it may play a role in the uni 's interviews......
giving rise to better chances apart from the actual performance at the interview.
that's how/what i feel....... -
Thanks jtoh and augmum, now I'm getting very worried. dd is recovering from stomach flu, and Monday is NAPFA , and no retest means no second chance.
Hi octopusmum, I thought all students in sports cca must go for competition or be reserved player? If not good enough, then maybe they also get kicked out? -
