starlight1968sg, u can try to steam brinjal with some minced meat on top. but need to add some dark soya sauce and fry the minced meat. if steam the brinjal alone will be very bland.

      anymore simple recipe to suggest?
Do you cut the brinjal before steaming? At times, I steam salmon, meatballs too.

I m terrible w chinese food, but i use my rice cooker to make claypot rice n chicken rice too πŸ™‚ ur family's blessed to have soup everyday.

I cook very simple soup. With soup, the dry and dull rice is easier to swallow. 😒

if u want soup and no time to do, can use the slow cooker, put all things in the morning, turn to slow cook, then when u come back from work will have soup to drink but waste electricity la

Yes, waste electricity and thus thought of using thermal pot. But tried once using my sis's, found that it was not really what I want or prefer. So now is cook soup in the early morning before I leave for work. Once home, heat the soup up again.

tingkat not good. not healthy, do u know wat type of oil they use or worst how many times they reuse ? how much salt/sugar they use? and how they wash the vege? we eat out in the afternoon, enough liao.. night, try to eat something healthier, home cooked. if possible. my opinion. tired abit nvm, so long our kids get the better food we can provide, at our best, of course.

Thanks all the mums who have shared.

Wonder how husbands can help out in this area besides eating?

                      Mine is similar too.
Ask him cook this for dinner, ok. He said ok. Everything also ok!
Yes, glad that there is no complaint and he eats whatever is on the table.
Maybe this is a blessing. πŸ™

maid for me is to do housework, not looking after my kids. since i find cooking dinner take up my bonding time with my kids, so i delegate this task to her, but for breakfast which is simpler, i do it myself. im very handson with my kids, which i must say im proud of it as a FTWM cos the precious time with them is short, when they grow up, we might never have the chance to brush their teeth, bath them, change them u know.. so i want to cherish these moments with them.

Yes, you are indeed hardworking and I am just not the type! πŸ˜‰ But still I will make breakfast and bath my boy during the weekends when no need to rush for work. It is true if one don't make effort at all to do anything for the kids, we will be missing a lot!
                        :celebrate:
