        Hey Chenonceau,

You got me worried. I am seriously not sure how long their interest will last.

The package does not come cheap - $199 sign-up and $22.90 or $50 per month for 24 months.

I am still trying to figure out the other features that come with the package. Actually it is not that user-friendly, but I guess this is not for me, as long as the kids like it.
Dun worry lah... I will get son and daddy to go down to Creative and evaluate. Won't buy just like that. If we buy, we take responsibility for our purchase. You dun have to feel stressed. šŸ˜‰

          Hi all,

Just want to share another tip wh I learn when DS goes to Sec sch :

The CL T asked the class to do a weekly journal (zhou ji), can write anything which they want to write on. This I feel help to strenghten his CL sentence structure/syntax and at the same time, help me to better understand his thoughts & feelings on certain topics/persons.

            re: Playchinese

            http://www.playchinese.com/

Finally I found someone who actually took the plunge ! I think Creative only lanched this last month ? I've checked the website and I thought the colourful interface and games are maybe more for younger children but I guess I am wrong. I wanted to see a demo but haven't gotten around to it.

HappyFaye, chamonix (re:friend), Chenonceau : do update us of your evaluation outcome and progress with the product.

              Hi all,

I've already ordered 1 set of PlayChinese for my DS but not sure whether it's still suitable for him as he's ardy in Sec 1. Of course, Creative said Sec sch still can use... but I wonder at the effectiveness and his time constraints.

I ordered 1st since I bought it at a gd price (in fact staff px as have contacts in Creative). If I don't keep it, will sell to my SIL who has advanced book with me, if I change my mind...super kiasu, right!? šŸ˜› šŸ˜›

[6] 三国演义 - he showed interest but didn't finish the whole series, could be due to the rather 'ancient' language used. I intend to try again during school holidays.
This set of DVD is not cheap as it sell at S$50 during the school book fair.

I saw your recommendation å¤ęœˆē…§ä»Šå°˜ by 文章 too but I don't know it ! Bang Head I should go find it. I've only heard 外婆ēš„ę¾Žę¹–ę¹¾, I remember 裘海正 sang it ? Yup, I am that old. Hahaha... [/quote]Hi Brenda & pixiedust,

Couldn't help but wonder whether you have heard of this song by Teresa Teng -
dan yuan ren chang jiu? Just got re-aquainted with the song and find the lyrics (which is a poem by Su Bin (?) ) so nice and poetic ( sure poetic since it's a poem what!)

Feel that esp. suitable for girls' sentiments... I personally feel more \"cultured\" instantly when I sang along with Teresa Teng...haha...

                    :celebrate:

Yes, I have. She sang some lovely songs.

Is it still possible to buy the albums? I was a poor student who only listened to radio.

I remember our ex-president Mr Ong sang yue liang dai biao wu de xin for his late wife? that is also Teresa's song?

But somehow I still can't picture my son listening to such songs

Yes, this is a popular song and Faye Wong also had sung. .

Teresa Teng also had another song Ji Duo Chou which was also good and helps the children to remember the poem effortlessly. :celebrate:
