      Hi mng_kl

      Its $240/mth .. (incl. meals)

I believe its the same for school holidays whether you put your kid in the student care or not.

There is also a yearly admin fee of $50 I think (cant recall how much i paid)

You can contact City Community Services - Student Care Centre

        Hi parents

I am thinking of sending my boy to Townsville next year.

So far, are you happy with the school (in terms of the dedication of teachers, amount of homework given and school environment) and is your child coping well in the school (too stressed, too relaxed, etc)?

Regarding the student care in the school’s compound, is it newly set up this year? What is the time table in the student care? Do they have nap times and bathing time other than teaching the child and going through their homework?

Would really appreciate your feedback. Thank you very much.

          Hi redbus,

my boy has bn there for over a yr. So far i have no complaints. For last yr n tis yr, my boy hv excellent n dedicated form teachers. There is constant communication between parents and the form teachers, either thru home call, sms or letter via school. The admin staff in the office were excellent w the kids, understand their anxiety when they forgot to bring money for recess, as well as their agony when they are sick and needed to call their parents. It was all well handled by them. My son feel v comfortable to approach them for help. They also reacted promptly to complaints.

For p1 students, they will be led by the p2 for first few days of recess. My son is generally thriving well in this school, he dun feel threatened or stressed out by the school work, generally he is coping very well. So far there's very minimal homework for the p1 and 2, mostly he has completed in class. An added advantage is for p1 and 2, they have wkly science lesson which my son enjoys immensely, theres no tests/exam for it. IT progm - touch typing was also being introduced.

I could nt comment on the daycare centre since my boy do not attend. Bt i believe there shd be bath time and probably by this age, nap time will not be necessary. Hope other parents with kids there can help you.

Hi. I don’t have a timetable for the student care.

From my observation, it is breakfast before 9am follow by worksheets (we purchase for use in the centre) then go lunch at canteen about 10.30. After which will change from student care t-shirt to uniform before going for class.

              No bath nor nap.

Studentcare is beside the school canteen and just started operations beginning 2011. So everything is nice & clean.

I am happy with the school too. Homework are usually given over the weekend.

                        Just to share…

I went for the open house last Thursday and I must say I am pretty happy with the discussion and guided tour. The VP has been frank with results and achievements as well as their weakness. The school achieved good passing rate as well as ccas. Their goal is steering towards developing kids holistically. They have their own science club to expose kids to science from P1. Got a strawberry farm and Eco Garden to explore on kids interest and ideas. Got a HOD Mathematician to improve and create interest towards Maths. Side track, school bus is working closely with the school and can cater to before or after school hours. A plus for when kids doing cca or group lessons after school. The have a in-house student care centre which starts from 7am till 6.30pm. Meals and coaching of school works provided. You can contact the VP Mr Mak for further enquiries at mainline 64574345.
