[Ang Mo Kio/Bishan/Thomson/Toa Payoh] Preschools
-
Hi goldfish,
Oh…I went before…the teachers are not Montessori trained, except the main teacher, which is only 2 or 3 I think. But the teachers are quite nice though. -
I have just shifted to bishan and I’m looking for a good quality childcare for my K1 boy and Playground for my niece. I don’t intend to to place the kids in any PCF centres.
My criteria:
1.small class size
2.low turnover rate of teachers
3.caring, loving teachers
4.open communication with parents
5.clean and bright enviroment
6.safety
7.no/little tv
Any gd recommendation? -
Oh my goodness i didnt realise it was so difficult not to mention stressful finding a good place to send our kids.
My daughter has just turned 18 months so my husband and I thought maybe we should send her to a pre-school expose her a bit; either halfday or just a couple of hours, we wnt to send her somewhere good where she will learnt things, not just play jump around and come back, that she can do at home.
we live in Bishan so thought of United montessori but read some of your reviews here and i duno if you al are being over kiasu or is it really that bad.
Called them for an apt they seem pretty packed for the next 2 weeks so they must be doing something right. So just wait and see then il go check it out.
Can anyone reccomend anything else near bishan area for an 18 month yea old
Thanks -

actually before we decided on united monte, we were between Hampton and United Montessori. but decided on united finally cos it’s much nearer and it seemed (at that time) both were comparable.
neighbours in my block mostly send their kids to Hampton which is further instead. when I asked them why, the reason they gave was that hampton serves better food. They’re those auntie kind who are more concerned about well-being over academics I reckon.
then I really found out that my son’s art classmate goes to hampton too and his mum is quite happy with them, saying that her son goes in to K1 and can’t speak a word of chinese but now at K2, he’s doing great - can speak and regconise lotsa chinese words. she didn’t mention about writing or I just forgot. -
Hi, I am staying at bishan and seeking a good child care center for my daughter born in 2008. Any recommendation for good ccc at bishan area? I have gone to few places: pemimpin, ang mo kio, bishan east, bishan north… though lots of ccc around, but a good one is hard to find, not to say if there is still any vacancy left…
I have shortlisted few:
a) My little campus
b) Kinderland @ pemimpin place
c) Sunny Bunny
d) Sparkle Tots
All comments are welcome. Thanks. -
I sent my daughter to UM when she turn 18months. but end up having diarrhea for 2 months just 5 days in the ccc. for the fist 3 days i sat in with my child at the UM, i was very disappointed by how they handle the kids… it’s totally different frm what the principal told me during the school showround.

i like little campus in Bishan. Their structured curriculum is impressive! K1 students are taught creative composition writing ... no need to wait till K2. Even if you do not enrol yr child there eventually, at least you visit them, have an idea ... how they equip children adequately, very well for Primary 1:-

thanks for your comment. but little campus seem like always no vacancy. the in-charge also don’t disclose how long is the waiting list. I did ask to put into the waiting list, through phone only. not sure whether really in the list or not.

I am also looking for a preschool for my child of 18mths. I happen to recieved their flyer for their open house and popped by for a visit. When i saw the place i was impressed with the space and the effort they have put in. The environment and furniture was very child friendly. Parents around this area should check out this called Helios Preschool.
