Advice needed! Feeling cold during swimming lessons

Hi,


Wonder anyone can advise? My children are having weekly swimming lessons at 6pm (1hr lesson). 2 of my 3 children will feel very cold & shiver, lips will turn purpish in colour.

I gave them sambucol prior to the swimming class, and snacks & in between the lesson also gave hot Milo. But it doesn’t help.

The coach is not available at other timing, does anyone has any advice on what to do or take?

Get them a thermal swimsuit or swimming vest to keep them warm.

hi, my gal also keep shivering during her swimming lesson but now she don’t shiver anymore because every lesson she wears long pyjamas inside and thn her swimwear which really helps and also some hot drink. Maybe you can try that and see how.

Thanks, my kids are wearing those long sleeve top, and I see that other children are coping well too.

I did not get those thermal swimsuit as I find them \"obstructive\" when come to swimming, when learning those strokes etc. During swimming lessons, guess no vest is allowed.

Wonder if anything to take to build up their bodies from feeling cold?

Do you mean those normal home wear pyjamas? Will it obstruct her strokes etc?

Furthermore, when it's wet, will it add on to the coldness? May I know what type of swim wear does your child wear?

yes, definitely the pyjamas will be longer thn the swim wear but its fine as they will get use to it. no harm giving it a try. Btw, how old it ur kids?? My gal is 7yrs old.

I have 3 Kids, 6 & 4(twins). It's my twins who are shivering.
