No half day for them...:stupid: -
I’m wondering whether other RV students have the time to read newspapers daily. dd comes home after sunset almost everyday, after hw, it’s bedtime. There is a high pile of newspapers waiting to be read every weekend. Sometimes, also can’t finish reading all the newspapers during wkends. Maybe during the June hols, then all these can be cleared.

for my gal, she would collect all newsapaper (esp chinese newsapaper whereby they are required to subscibe)
and read the whole pile during June or Dec holidays.
she only read a portion of it where she needs to do 读后感.

Reading is an important habit and skill. The better you are at it, the faster you can read, the faster you can read, the fater you can absorb knowledge. The faster you can absorb knowledge, the faster you can find out what is important to read and the virtuous cycle carries on. The more powerful your strength, the stronger your tools for academic prowess. Ths, it is to the students advantage if he/she can ramp up this habit and skills. The higher the better and stronger advantage over others. -

ya, i know that, that's shd be the ideal rountine, i.e reading newspaper daily.
but in reality, ........
when almost everyday, there'll be bound to have either assignments,
projects (group and individual), topical tests, chengyu xingxue, or competitions, besides HW
so priority will be those with deadline to meet.
now, gal finally realised why her seniors told he that Sec 1 is honeymoon period.
sec 2 HW is almost twice of Sec1.
