Hi Augmum, when they start taking GP, then by hook or by crook, they'll have to read the newspapers daily.
ya, i know that, that's shd be the ideal rountine, i.e reading newspaper daily.
but in reality, ........
when almost everyday, there'll be bound to have either assignments,
projects (group and individual), topical tests, chengyu xingxue, or competitions, besides HW
so priority will be those with deadline to meet.
now, gal finally realised why her seniors told he that Sec 1 is honeymoon period.
sec 2 HW is almost twice of Sec1. -
Augmum:
I fully agree with you. Even in Y1, there is already so much work and they also spend so much time and $ on project. I guess they'll just get busier each year. I dun think Y1 is honeymoon, but maybe in Y2, then Y1 becomes honeymoon period.

Parents here…can you share anybody hears/knows …
Understand Open House in Nov this year… so late…why ?
Wouldn’t it make more sense to hold earlier just like other top schools for new students/parents to visit and experience for themselves what it is like in the school…
Observe in this thread past 2 years was done in May which makes more sense, isnt’ it … -

Last yr, the Open House was after the psle results. I think it is better so students who can't meet the COP can focus on the open house of other schs. A lot of sch has open house after psle results.Parents here...can you share anybody hears/knows ..

The students have yet to sit for psle, so they can wait until after the results to visit the sch and check it out. No hurry. For students who intend to dsa, they should visit the sch open house last Nov. -

My take is that it's better to have open houses in mid-yr,

as after going for sch open houses,
it might inspire the kids to work harder so as to spur towards their dream schools. -
best is to have both,
one in mid-yr and 1 after PSLE results. (for those who could meet the COP, as not to waste time)
