Hi hi Little_Princesses_LnK.... nope, i don't live in bukit batok but live in cck which also has high no. of children trying to get into 'non-branded but more popular' schools coz of the many many no. of young couples who start up their family in newer estates like cck...... and hence the reason why balloting is constantly quite a requirement for the few more popular schools....sigh. :x
I added up the number of kids registered as of 2A2 and found it to be 18565. Birth rate for 2003 was 37485....Just hoping that there wont be tough competition for 2C outside 2km! Any views?
No, I think it is more likely dependent on individual schools....I thought of that too but if I analyse it together with the schools past year trend, the analysis of less birth rate in 2003 vs less competition for 2C/out 2km does not mix.....I juz feel that reducing the intake this year has made competition more stiff......or shld i say balloting more 'intensive'?? 😒

baby2momma:
are you already successful in your registration?? meaning

has the school confirmed a place for your child?
if the school is \"branded\", i'm sure many parents would thank
you for giving up the place. πŸ˜‰
Yes. consider \"branded\" school (Red swastika School) in bedok but I'm staying at Hougang. I didn't want to give up the chance phase 2A2. worried that phase 2C need to ballot at neighbourhood school.

history from past year registration showed most of the good school need ballot for within 1km. it is better to choose school within 1km. if u really want to try to go to school outside 2km, then u need to register on the 3rd day. find out the numbers of people register for that school. The scholl will advise u the chance or getting in or straight away ask u to register those school that within 1km.

Yes. Angelevildevil is right. even though the take up no.s are only 50% of the total birth rate as for 2003…there will still be heat competition among the "brand" & good schools and according to past history, there will sure be ballotting required within 1km.

Only Princess E is 1-2km. What abt you? I live in Bkt Btk. Yrself?
i think you already know that phase 2C princess E 1-2km is very very slim. if you are lucky, may get chance to ballot.

if u hv set yr mind in this school & hv already got a place, distance shld not be a factor anymore. ever considered shifting for the sake of yr kids?

On the bright side, Hougang is not too far away from Bedok (probably depend on which part of hougang you are at). You will be surprise to learn that sometimes if you stay \"further\" from the school, the school bus timing isn't always that bad. Maybe it's better because it's a small van but of course expect the price to be higher.

Eg. We used to stay in changi and kids goes to MBS (at circuit road). She is the last to be pick up at 11.45am and comes back by 7pm. Well now that we are hougang area (not far from Ubi/ circuit road), the kids get picked up at 11.00am on a small van. They are usually one of the earliest to arrive.

Dear All

Really need some expert advice.

My daughter is due to register for P1 in Phase 2C this year. We originally had in mind RMPS which is within 1-2 kim or RVPS which is >2km but looking at the take up rate to-date and the historical records, it seems we will have to ballot for both.

I am thinking of changing my plans to register for Zhangde Primary which is <1 km but my hubby is not too keen to have my daughter in the same school as his newphew. He was thinking we can just fall back on Queenstown Primary at Phase 2C supplementary if we are not successful with RMPS. Can anyone give some advice/ comparison between Zhangde and Queenstown?

I also see suggestions of monitoring vacancies before registering for our preferred school. Can anyone tell me how to do that so that I can decide if RMPS or RVPS will have a better chance of success.

Thanks in advance for all the advice.
