MMR Injection
-
Hi all mummies,
My 15-mths girl is going to take her MMR injection next Tuesday. Wonder will she get fever after taking the injection?
Thanks -
Most times both my DDs will get fever.
It's like a way of them responding to it.
After a few experiences with the jabs,
we will give the Dhamol (Paracetamol)
right after the jab. No crankiness or
lingering cries then. Oh yes, and right
after the medication, i quickly open my
buffet table - ie. breast milk...
Even if they were crying, they would
fall asleep soon after.
Dunno about others, but guess this
worked for me. Especially since i
had to bring the girls to the poly
clinic on my own most of the time...

Like buds, both my gals also had fever but pretty mild.. both will only cry a little while and by the time we go out of the room they have already stop.. Before any jab, I will tell them it is going to hurt a little but mummy is sorry they have to take it coz it will make them healthy and strong.. then promise them a bribe..sometimes it's nen-nen also..
uhmm, the other thing to take care is the soreness.. the nurses in the polyclinic always reminds me to press very firmly for a few minutes directly after the jab to minimize the swelling.. yup and they also recommend that I administer paracetamol once I get home even before any onset of fever.. -
Warm cloth can do the trick for the swelling..

Hmm… my daughter got mild rashes on 2nd day after MMR jab. A little itchy. But she was ok after one week.
Nothing doctor can do for her rashes. Doc said some children got it after this jab. NORMAL. -
Thanks for all the mummies reply.
:celebrate: Enjoy the weekend. -
Hi,
Does anyone know about pneumococcal vaccine? Did any mother bring their kids to have this injection? What is this injection about? Is it compulsory?
Thanks -
Good luck for Tuesday, Angela!

Hope your bb won't be too cranky... -

I hope that she will not cry so loud.
Whenever she has injection, the day before the injection, she will behave very strangely. Will wake up in the midnight or cry with no reason. Today, she is like that again. Sometimes, we think she knows the date of appointment.
Ha! Ha! Ha!

I think it's becos you are nervous/anxious so your child picks up the vibes and gets cranky too. So you must first relax yourself then prepare to do whatever you know will calm her down. ^_^Whenever she has injection, the day before the injection, she will behave very strangely.
