If like that also can, then there will be a big lelong even before the registration starts. My daughter is still young (4) now .
I stay in the East and i believe she can enter a popular school in central Area via phase 2A. I am thinking if there is a possibility of an arrangement that i can swap place with a willing parent who stay in central but his child is enrolled in a popular school in the east.
Any parents done that b4 ?
thanks
regards
Lelong! Lelong! A place at school ABC for a place at school XYZ!!

You have mentioned ur dd can enter the school via P2A. If you have priority under P2A, I think the school will not care how is the distance from ur house. Ur problem is distance 'to & fro' from school rite ?
You are rite, needy. Anyway Thanks for all the followup. As mentioned by some, if this would be allowed , there would be a big lelong .
I guess Even those who have done that are unlikely to discuss openly.
.....i should change my request to if any parent interested to do the swap , pm me

If MOE don't allow swaps, how do you propose that a private arrangement between parents would work? Unless your kids are going to be studying under assumed identities for 6 years.... :?

Sometimes things are not stated does not mean it cannot be done
if one never try , one will never knw. Maybe some exception can be made even it is not allowed on paper.

:? Is it worth risking getting caught and harming the child instead? -

I've often wondered why there are foreigners in popular schools when these schools are supposed to fill up by phase 2C. Could it be one of these swapping arrangements or there are other means available to desperate but resourceful parents?

Fundamentally, the first question one should ask is whether a particular maneuver/tactic is fair and equitable to all interested parties, including by-standing parents. If trading in P school places were allowed, whatβs there to stop a black-market from developing? I.e. I trade you my place in Nanyang for your place in Maha Bodhi, plus $10000 cash payment? Who will this benefit/disadvantage? I think we all know the answerβ¦
Next question is, if by some means, we come across a method to gain an unfair advantage for ourself for P1 registration, one that is non-transparent or above board, should we avail ourself of it? Well, that depends on what values we wish to model for our children, I guessβ¦
