      Hi can anyone advise?

Is it advisable for the child to take grade 6 piano practical exam without going through grades 4 or 5?
      Thanks

If you could upload a video on the kid's playing, you may be able to get more accurate feedbacks.

Hi acforfamily, I remembered my friend’s DD music teacher advised her to go for grades 1, 3 & 5 and especially not to skip grade 5. Did you check in with his teacher for advice?

Depends on how well the foundation is. Personally, I recommend skipping 4 but not 5 if the child is ready to do so.

it was recommended by the teacher which i thought was a bit strange. I also thought that most people do grade 5

If that’s the teacher’s suggestion then take it. I assume you trust the teacher that’s why your child is with him/her.

Thanks all for your advice. Have decided to go with teacher’s recommendation. Probably will ressess when it is time to register for the exams.
