Anyone bought Eldershield package for their parents?
      1. Which insurer did you get from?
      2. Did you take on any riders?

I have not read through NTUC's package, but a brief reading from Aviva and GreatEastern's package, Aviva's rider plans have option for lifetime benefit payable while Greateastern's comprehensive plan only has max 10yr benefit payout. Greateastern's premiums is rather transparent from their website, while Aviva's rider plan's premium rates are not available on their website.
Yes, My husband recently bought golden protection from great eastern for my mother-in-law.

she is currently 73, as far as i know no other insurance company will cover her because of her age (mostly only cover before 65) and she is diabetic. so lucky she is 2 years younger than 75, otherwise golden protector also can't protect her, hehe... and she does not need to do health checkup as it is personal accident plan. The coverage is only up to 55000. Well, it is better than nothing, i suppose.

this post is interested and informatic. Health insurance is insurance that pays for all or part of a person’s health care bills. The types of health insurance are group health plans, individual plans, workers’ compensation, and government health plans such as Medicare and Medicaid.Health insurance can be further classified into feefor-service and managed care. Both group and individual insurance plans can be either fee-for-service or managed care plans. thanks for share!

What is your definition of accidents? cuts? fracture? or the more serious types such as lost of fingers/limbs etc?

Yeap as suggested above you may wish to check if your son's school has gotten some form of group insurance with personal accident coverage. Alternative you may wish to consider getting a standalone personal accident policy catered for school going kids.

Some examples (note that the list below is not exhaustive) for your reference below:
                  - From AIA: http://www.aia.com.sg/health/hiplans-star-shield.html
                  - From GE Life: http://www.lifeisgreat.com.sg/en/jsp/products/protect/juniorp.jsp
                  - From Manulife: http://www.manulife.com.sg/product_overview_family_mpal.aspx
                  - From Prudential: http://www.prudential.com.sg/corp/prudential_en_sg/solutions/protect/PRUaccident_cover.html
                  - From NTUC: http://www.income.com.sg/insurance/SPP/index.asp

Disclaimer: Do note that I am not advocating any particular company or plan. The links are attached more for information and self-reading so that you may be aware of what are the type of child accident policies available in the market. You are advised to approach your financial planner or insurance broker to assist you in finding out which plan is suitable to meet your needs.

                  Cheers :celebrate:
