NSP helper sacked from Jurong Town Council

      how ???
She works in Jurong Twon Council but was a NSP supporter. She was caught selling NSP products though I am not sure what was the guidelines behind that during the election. She was fired after the election.

      Details found here:

I also want to say that in the previous thread with the Polls %, the actual results with decimal points should be the deciding factor. It was reported that the % was 60.1% for the incumbent party and hence those in the polls voted for 60-63% should be correct! Not the lower rank one!

Is town council linked to any political party? A town council is supposed to serve the residents living in that area and full-stop.

likewise Serangoon got the lowest votes in Aljunied GRC - as reported yesterday ST.....one reason not reported, I speculate only, must be due to the workers' hostel sited next to the landed houses there that caused such big hoohah sometime back....voters do remember, contrary to what some may think

Was surprised too that Serangoon got the lowest! I always thought LHH handled the workers' dorm. issue quite well and she is well-liked. Now I dunnoo, am suspecting perhaps the papers had reported it all in a much more positive light than actual... Well, I suppose the voters thought this is but one example of the incumbant party not listening to them as well.
I can understand when one of forummers said that one of her friends responded with \" We lost GY\" after receiving a Happy Mothers' Day text message... frankly I felt like that too.

We can both cry together then!
                  😢

Gee, that bad huh? Yap, that was my friend's response.... :scared:
Only now then I get to know GY better through the papers and interviews, very difficult to have much feeling about this. It has been a \"bloody\" election.

How about Mr Ong who waited until his father passed on before joining the PAP and yet not even have the chance of a foot into Parliament? The newspapers reported that he went to pay his father respect after the election. I wonder what went through his mind? 😢
Hmm..I guess it's coz I know GY, so it hurts more. But i can understand how other people may think it's an overreaction! Even my DH has told me to STOP my whining about it!

I know Ong Ye Kung too. I feel for him too, but i'm not so upset. he's still young, so he's not out of the picture. It's a pity he lost, but I respect him even more for this baptism of fire that he has gone through. I think it's not quite right for our MPs, especially our office holders, not to go through elections.

By the way, just to clarify, I'm NOT from the PAP...I know GY and YK from somewhere else...
Just two days after the opposition Workers’ Party claimed victory in Aljunied GRC at the general election, reports are surfacing all over the internet that the town council seems to have suspended its services.

It has also been rumoured that certain town council contracts have been terminated, and that Residents’ Committee (RC) signboards have been taken down in certain areas of the GRC.

The Aljunied GRC website has also been taken offline.
alamak :slapshead: history repeat ??

Why can’t they hand over smoothly instead of messing things up for WP to clear ??
obviously can't terminate the services juz liddat.

Is WP gonna to face the same problem with HG town council 20 yrs ago??
Hopefully not, like LTk had said, “ 20 yrs later, the pple are more civilized” ..... 😉
