haha, driving in toronto was the best experience i ever had.


at an intersection, all cars stop and the first one to reach there has the right to go first follow by the 2nd arrival. a nod of the head is usually the signal. there was no rush and everyone was very gracious. but guess they are not always not in a hurry so no need to beep and beep and beep.

I think the no traffic light system is actually safer coz people have to actually look out for other cars. I think there was an experiment somewhere in Europe and they found that the accident rate went down.

okay, another question to all, what do you think it means when a driver flashes his light at you once or twice when you are doing the following:

1) when you are trying to cut into another lane

2) when you are waiting for an opportunity to move onto the road from the carpark, your house etc.

did they consider because people have been relying on the traffic light that now its taken off they feel they might be in danger? in the short term this might reduce accidents but in the long term? people get complacent and the accident rate will probably be shot up sky high

Actually I like the Newton roundabout. It is one of the few last roundabouts left. I find it fun looking out for the cars and getting into the lanes and when one makes a wrong turn, can just go around to get back. Of course exiting the roundabout is sometimes dangerous because of reckess driver, but I find it fun watching the behaviour of drivers, it takes the mundane off driving on SG roads.


Also the brief unstructureness is what I enjoy most in the roundabout. I have not seen the newly drawn lines yet albeit I was there yesterday but I hope it does not take the fun out of driving.

every morning while fetching my son to school, I will always encounter impatient drivers zooming in and out of the lanes if the driver in front is slow (me lah :oops: ) but will still end up at the traffic light junction with me bec the traffic light is red :rotflmao: :rotflmao: you know how many traffic lights there are along any stretch of road in Singapore so why so kancheong spider??? :siao:

btw I travel at 60-70kmph along heartland roads so I am not road hogging ok! :boogie:

I like Newton circus too. It’s fun negotiating it. I wonder, are new drivers taught how to negotiate a circus? If not, maybe that’s why there are so many kayu drivers who can’t go round?
