      Luanee:

Nuttyjo, how far do u stay from the school? If it is 54 fighting for 52 places, most probably it would be for those out of 2km (my guess). Hopefully they will discover there are 2 sets of twins/triplets within the 54 applicants? (like the case of HPPS in 2C last year)..

Hi Luanee, during registration, there is a father saying he has a set of TWINS and asked if balloting is required, what happen. I din heard what was transpired...so what happen if there are twins/triplets? Please enlighten me  Thks

For twins, they count as one application, so either both get in or both dont. Since u heard there is a pair of twins among the 54 applicants, that means it is now treated as 53 applicants. I am not sure which distance category that father of twins stay under. Both of them will get in if they stay within 2km. Else they will ballot under one 'ticket'.

For the higher application in spite of lower birthrates, attribute it to all the PRs lor... dont forget citizens + PRs are classified in the same category, no advantage for citizens at all when it comes to P1 registration.

Actually if you check with the registration staff, they may reveal, we did when we went in the afternoon of the 1st day's registration and they revealed an approx percentage. So you can do that when you go for registration, however, if you are amg the 1st few then they will not be able to tell u  .

I heard some sch will indicate clearly on white board at the reg. counter the no. of applicant under each distance group. Hope Rulang will be so 'helpful; as well.

Anyway, all the best to you tmrw. :please:

last year the app rate for Phase 2C is 190% for Rulang.therefore the chances of getting in is 52% (100/190).

this year i pray that the app rate for <1km is less than 190% since the birth rate for 2003 is lower.somemore those who has oldest siblings should get in.really cross my fingers.

But since there were 100+ people applying for PV and only 40+ selected plus a number or people who missed/did not apply for PV.. well chances are it will exceed the 190% this year..but like I said I do hope I'm dead wrong..

I hope i am right so that this year APP rate remains low. Those PV who cannot get is those who stay beyond 1km or 2km.keke

I wouldn't just look at last year's. The average APP in Phase 2C for schools in Jurong West from 2006-2008 are:
                        Boon Lay Garden\t\t29%\tAverage deviation: 0%Corporation Primary\t24%\tAverage deviation: 4%Jurong West Primary\t220%\tAverage deviation: 32%Juying Primary\t17%\tAverage deviation: 2%Lakeside Primary\t55%\tAverage deviation: 7%Pioneer Primary\t40%\tAverage deviation: 14%Rulang Primary\t297%\tAverage deviation: 71%Shuqun Primary\t109%\tAverage deviation: 5%West Grove Primary\t298%\tAverage deviation: 30%Xingnan Primary\t87%\tAverage deviation: 25%
The lower the average deviation, the more certain the number. By the looks of it, people going for Rulang may be in for a wild ride with 71% average deviation!
