Common sense action must need extraordinary effort. Why can't the procedure be that if the person have no other means to pay to use more of the Medisave? Why can't hospital just offer installment payment when patient really cannot pay?
Waiting for White camp supporters to come in and defend the MIW..

      Anyone?

not related to any white... red... blue... black.... camp. šŸ˜‰ Just need some clarification myself.

I thought installment payment plans are available? Thot I read in the newspapers that the hospitals do make that provision with some patients. Is this across the board or only a case-by-case? :?
In that case the biggest failure is our education system... We are not producing the right calibre people to meet the demands of the real world, isn't it? And yet these poor kids do suffer severe stress in the education. Something is so wrong....suffer without results.

Blame ourselves. Because we parents have precious few kids, we pave the way for them from the day they were born. They never had to struggle much for anything. Exam stress, yes, but to really work for something they want or need. Very few need to do that.
I have a feeling that the severe stress that kids face today is a more recent phenomenon. These kids are the present schooling lot, we haven't seen them in the workforce. The ones in the workforce today still belong to the spoon-fed era. There is hope yet!

You will get some idea what to expect.

Actually, I'm more of making a comment rather than a question.. šŸ˜‰

We all know what \"most\" are like..
Not sure if I understand your point. The Japan PM did not handle the crisis well at all. Would you rather have a good leader or a lousy one who gives up his salary when something went wrong?

i think the FTs and unemployment thing is quite difficult to understand.

i've come across so many fresh graduates who cannot find any jobs and resort to being full time tutors. Granted they can earn a decent amount every month.

i think the main issue is that our government is saying that we need foreigners to do jobs singaporeans dont want to do but in actual fact they are taking over our white collar jobs and also managerial positions. Healthcare and F and B is all foreigners.

and i think i have more and more foreigners wanting to become tutors too.
they wanna stick their finger in every pie...

we were willing to pay S$12k to send some one to Shanghai to jaga our interest there - housing provided - no taker !! no choice, hire the malaysians lor and pay less, 40% less !!!

Maybe the local ones are getting paid more than $12k without having to be uprooted... or maybe the wifey objected to the husband going there

To my knowledge, hospitals allow payment by installment for financially-tight patient. No worries.

When I read about the how the constituents' farewell for Mr Chiam See Tong and for the Aljunied Team (in this case, the absence of it), it's quite loud and plain that who is the People's MP and who is not.

I was just reading this blog by Mr Wang and was surprised that George Yeo was actually the one who initiated the Integrated Resort:-

Please don't hate me for saying this. I dun like GY. He has the ear of LHL and it is his influence that gave us the IRs, even though people like Lim Boon Heng objected. People that look nice, may not BE nice.

But people like LKY didn't look nice, yet he did so much for Singapore. He is old and out of touch, I agree... but he did a lot for Singapore.

GY did alot for us too. He was also the one that gave us THE DURIAN which has now become an outstanding landmark.

                      Hi schweppes,
No worries. I have briefly read the link provided earlier and it did state in the reply letter from \"If you have difficulties in settling your hospitalization expenses, you may wish to approach SGH Business Office … for consideration of financial assistance or to work out an affordable payment plan.ā€ I believe the government is still humane enough not to leave any patient untreated due to inability to pay bills.

Talking about house robbery, heard this story from my friend who is a property agent. One of her clients (I thnk) bought and renovated their new apartment. The contractors who renovated their flat were foreign workers. Imagine their shock when on the day they moved in, they found that not only their newly delivered furnishing and appliances missing, their new sofa which must be too heavy for the burglars to carry, was slashed. Apparently, these people were so envious to see such wealth that whatever they couldn't take they rather destroy than let you enjoy. :slapshead: Their main suspects of course are the foreign workers.
