Some of my colleagues also went to JB for dental treatment as it’s cheaper.

        Hi jtoh,

Qing cao you = 青草油, ordinary medical shop can get it. Normally she used as preventive, if felt like pain coming/ inflammation, will apply.

The oil is for minor pain. Your helper's case think can't work alrdy - if simple extraction, cost shdn't be that bad. But if root canal is involved, then could be more expensive than my wisdom tooth (DH did his...)

Prob get her to one reasonably px dentist for them to check her 1st. (don't know how they tahan... bad toothache can want yr life ... at least for me...)

P.S If you need the JB dentist (wh BIL used b4) contact, PM me & I'll check for u...Heard fm BIL he's a qualified Chinese dentist.
Thanks for your help, QuiteKSMum. Don't think I'll recommend her to go JB though so I'll look for one in Singapore for her.

Thanks tiger88. Guess the first thing is to get the maid to a dentist first to assess her situation.

Called up a private dental clinic. Extraction of wisdom tooth is $200 after discount for maid. My maid was saying in Philippines it costs only 100 pesos or S$7 for wisdom tooth extraction. Aiyoh! Why didn’t she get it done when she was back home recently?

Wow, only cost S$7 for wisdom tooth extraction in Phiipppines? Then she should have done it back home.

My maid wanted to do her dentures when she went back for home leave 2 yrs ago. But her home leave is only 15 days, not enough time to wait for her dentures to be ready so I told her I subsidise a bit for her to do it at NUH. But every time she goes for her dental treatment (half a day), I gotta either take leave or work from home to look after my kid.
