Heard that it is in Pulau Ubin but more details are not known yet. Quite worry bcos my DS is not those out-going type. Oh yes, today DS got his English SA1 result, not good. Heard that the whole class is not doing very well for the English paper, wonder is it the marking too strict? The English teacher again....

But how does your DS find Eng n Lit lessons? Mine said lots of \"free periods.\"

Ya it’s true, my DS said the teacher just sit there during Eng n Lit lessons and if you have questions to ask her then you can confront her. I wonder what kind of "lesson" is this???

That's exactly what my DS said! Self revision or revise other subjects. Such precious time wasted. I'm just so disappointed that the school is letting such a thing happen.

She was probably upset with you sending a copy of the letter to MOE.

I have no idea if she knew of it, because I sent both emails seperately.
However, the HOD replied me, albeit delayed, with the following response:

My apologies for my delayed response to your email.
I believe Mrs Jaya has called to clarify the matter with you yesterday.

I would also like to thank you for raising the issue. Your feedback is very helpful to us to improve on what we do in the classroom with our students.

I will be happy to hear from you if you should require further clarification.

After what Blitz had done and the last PTM, Mrs Jaya (the Eng teacher) is not doing anything at all and the school just responded as above and full-stop, that's it. Mrs Jaya has become worse by refusing to teach and making the boys doing their own things during lessons. DS said she keeps telling them that : \" Don't complain that I never teach\". So what's the use of PTM, what's the use of writing to the HOD? I wonder if this still continue till SA2, what will happen to the boys streaming at the end of the year? :xedfingers:

A RETIRED school principal was charged with 20 counts of misappropriating funds from the school and one of simple criminal breach of trust totalling $148,540 over a six-year period.


Anthony Tan Kim Hock, 64, was principal of Maris Stella High School when he allegedly misappropriated $44,861 from mainly the school management committee account 13 times to pay for a relative's overseas school trips, coaching, and professional tennis registry renewal fees, among others.

Tan allegedly pocketed donations and funds in the school chapel building fund totalling $103,679 at the Mount Vernon Road School.

Tan, who retired in December 2009, was represented by Dr Koh Hai Keong.

If convicted of offences before February 2008, he faces a jail term of up to seven years and fine on each charge. Offences after that date carry a jail term of up to 15 years and fine each.

He is out on police bail of $40,000. He will appear in court again on June 16.

After that incident when I emailed the school and MOE, ds said she told the class she will teach - those who dont want to pay attention to keep quiet and dont disturb the rest of the class. So Mrs Jaya has been going through Animal Farm and poetry teaching.
